I'm not all goth, I don't label myself as anything or any of that crap...i just love a lot of their clothes and jewelry. Every time i talk about Hot Topic to anyone whos not a fan of the store, they always say like, "only an idiot would shop there...its a goth store. they're all non-conformist, yet they follow the trend of buying these clothes"

I for one think that's a load of crap...I'd buy all of my clothes there if I had the money. Does anyone here like this store? I was wondering how many people at a hippy forum would wear their clothes

That stuff is pretty expensive and some looks kinda uncomfortable. That's why i don't shop there.

Well my sister shops there alot. We are complete opposites...sorta like night and day..but we get along fine...she is not all goth...I guess punk...I do not know what they say now. I for one do like Hot Topic. I can get some pretty cool stuff there that normally would be expensive. I got two beatles shirts and a dead shirt there and some groovy stickers. They also have invader zim and johnny the homicidal maniac. now i do not go shopping a lot nor do i like the mall...but when i do go i normally go there.

I think it's ironic that all those kids who claim they are non-conformist, and most likely anti-gap, shop at hot topic, being that it is owned by the gap. I have a few shirts from there, but i try to stay away from gap and old navy owned stores.

    Peace and Love,
    Dan

When I was in college, there was a nearby Hot Topic, and I went there on occasion. I even bought a shirt there, but I gave it away after wearing it only twice. Actually, I don't miss Hot Topic.

Every time I've gone by the store theres been like metal playing, kinda drove me away. The whole store is just black and shiny, hard to bare. The only reason I think I'd ever find myself there is to get a band T, but how great a selection and sizes can one store get?

Yeah well I'm not into the stuff they sell there, I'm not saying anything bad about the people that go there.

I shop there. In fact almost all of my shirts come from there. All I wear really are band t-shirts. It gets on my nerves when people say that just "punk" and "goth" people shop there. When I've been in there I've seen kids who have on A&F clothes and all kinds of differnet people.

hmmm, I dont have a hot topic where I live so I dont really know, but I have heard a lot about it. I think most people dont like it because its not really alternative if they mass produce and mass market it... it makes a mokery of the whole alternative idea

however, You have to wear something, and if you would rather wear hot topic clothes... then so be it, its just clothes really

I used to buy band t-shirts there during freshmen year of high school. I no longer do because its too expensive and I wear whatever clothes are comfortable rather then whats fashionable.

I actually have my liquid plasma pendants being reviewed by Hot Topic. I hope they pick me up. I am jewelry artist here in the St. Louis area... I hope they pick up my line of product.

I think I have one Beatle shirt from there, but other than that it's not a very friendly place (the people that work there anyway)

hot topic is okay, it's just extremely expensive. and i get the feeling that a lot of the jr. high kids in there who are buying obscure rock or metal t-shirts aren't buying them because they like the band, they're buying them because they saw them at hot topic and think they are cool. they have a pretty good selection of accessories like wristbands and necklaces and all that but everything else is expensive and you could get it easily somewhere else.

I love Hot Topic! Like on your average day i do not wear that type of clothing. I am much too obsessed w/ being comfortable & i'm cheap when it comes to clothes. But i love going in there and just checking everything out. I own some things from there from back in the day that i just can't let go of. I have a 8" platform pair of boots. I call them my "Kiss boots". Also some of the under clothes are just so damn cute & sexy!
    I vote FOR Hot Topic!

Gap doesn't own Hot Topic. They only own Banana Republic and Old Navy.
