Advair, I dont understand its delivery.

Its not a arosol, but a powder, do you inhale the powder into you lungs?
Or is it orally ingested once it reaches the mouth, the powder has no propelant.
and it really has me curious. I understand the action of the drug, yet still dont get its delivery. are the active compounds minute enough to be smaller than 100mcg to effect you if that amount isnt even reaching the lung>? in the form of dust.. is it the same type of drug without the coolant of a arosol?

Had nothing better to do but to bring a new chemical subject to light..

Not a recreational drug.... so dont get no stupid ideas.... Topic for conversation on the delivery, type of drug or others...

Question is this any different than inhaling "snow cones" fine powdered Cocaine through you mouth. I know I got coke powder into my lung... felt like I could really breath.. but who didnt know that...

It says in the pdr that it causes rapid heart rates, and pallpitation. Wonder if its speed? I know its not, least not chemically..

the parts that hold the drug are like that of a paper cap gun reel.. the clicker thingy pops a hole in the plastic, and the drug just sits there... ok how hard am I soppose to inhale..

after I took it apart I did a pile of the dust through a straw into my mouth..
but it didnt do nothing at least I dont think it did. not soppose to be a rescue inhaler...
but a steriod for opening airways. but Id like to know how does it reach lungs

are you kidding me? now My bronchitis went away after a couple of days,, but I smoke maybe to much at times. so Im not even saying the big the big burst I did of it through the straw had anything to do with it..
the powder quickly disolves in water, I cant see it reaching lung tissue, since the tiny amount that is the actual dose is at least 100x's smaller than the dose I took through a straw...

I think Astma patients are being DUPED!!!!!!

no there is no straw on the device, its rather lip shaped, for you to rest your mouth on. not like a triditional inhaler that are round, its really stupid.. cause the powder just sit it once you click the thingy, if you turn it upside down and shake it hardly anything comes out.. makes no sene to me? if you draw a breath of it off the device theres nothing there.. i swear... its not making sence.

 

Yeah it seems a little ridiculous. They should just put it into an aersol like other inhalers.

 

one reason there isnt a propellant arosol , is cause those chems they were using were accually inhalent drugs used to get high on. and people are huffing the shit.. but I dont have astma, its stupid for a doctor to give me this medicine, When you say yeah I smoke ciggeretts. that makes you a test patient for some stupid trial for a medication. not just with this type of medication but with all...

this dont work try something else... Im not nieve, so Im not falling into the guinee pig thing.. But million of people do, its quite a racket ist it...

yeah I don't get the delivery mechanism either. One of the reasons there was a push to replace the canisters was environmental, yet the contraption comes wrapped like film--lots of plastic and boxing.. I like the meter feature. And it works quite well, but I still like good old albuterol best.

 

your telling me that you accually got a dose from one click of the device? Then you must have astma and noticed its actions cause I didnt respond to it even after a large inhaled dose. but I did feel side effect whether they were psycosytimatic I not sure.

yep I have asthma. Advair worked for a mild flare up. Didn't get that dizzy fainting like moment that I've gotten after albuterol. Depending on how you inhale you might taste the powder,,, its very subtle. slightly bitter mostly sweet, tiny amount. i for once followed the damn instructions and wahed out my mouth afterwards, don't know if it makes a diff. but I didn't get a sore throat.

 

I see now, so it is a dust your inhaling, but It must be really minute and latchs onto tissue and is absorbed. I was concerned that a Wet throat would cause the dust not to flow and hit the walls of the throat and be swallowed, not hitting lung tissue at all.
That would seem to be a waste imo.. but I soppose your astmatic attack will have your throat dry in most cases. as your saying a mild attack. Overall do you rather have the forced air (gas)inhaler?

 

Its a good product but much more expensive than the canister. Besides it has this corticosteroid that I don't usually need.
