Of course they can but not everybody feels this way

Another person says

I believe that a loved one can contact us after death. Absolutely. I haven't experienced it with a human family member, but when I was younger I had a beloved cat Sammy who died and a while after he died (I guess two months?) he showed up one night, I guess to say goodbye, both my mom and I felt him that night. I actually saw and felt his presence, my mom felt him jump up on her bed and start purring.
Then he left and didn't come back.


When we loose someone we love dearly it is only natural to question death and what happens to the energy of the person who has died. I have had contact with people who have passed all my life so I know through personal experiance that loved ones do come to comfort us.

What is your experiences with your love ones visiting you?

 

I have had recently, and long since passed friends, family members, and pets, pay visits to me on many occasions. Sometimes repeatedly for years. Almost always paying their visits in my dreams.

But, I once had 2 very special twin black cats that have physically, or at least visually, appeared many times over.

Being black, they usually appear in the shadows of a lamp lit room after night fall. Like in the darkness under a table. And, I will clearly see them out of the corner of my eye, just as when they were here with me, as a shadow with in the shadows. And, my attention caught, I'll snap a look directly there. But, once my main vision is focused on the spot, there is nothing to be seen. But, I'll have the feeling.

It almost seems to work like the way very faint stars can be seen at night in our periferial vision, but when we turn to look directly at them we can't see them -- because of the difference in the way we see with the rods, or cones, in our eyes -- sorry don't remember which is periferial, and which is main vision.

And yes, I too have felt their physical weight and presence on my bed, and body. Enough so, to awaken me, and cause me to sit up and turn on the light to see who or what was there -- though I already knew. Once I remember being awakened by the feeling of one of the cats whiskers tickling my cheek as he sniffed at my face.

It's always nice to have them drop by, and to know the bond still exists between us. Especially since one left this world back in the late 70s and one in '91.

Also, most of the time, whether it is the cats or persons coming in dreams, or a more conscious visit, there is usually some message, sign, or purpose, that they are directing my attention to. Or, just to comfort me at times of great stress, or unhappiness.

Though not always. Sometimes it's just to say, "Hi, the bond still exists."

Yes, it is comforting to know that the bonds and connections of love are a spirit link, that knows no limitations. And, that once established, exists, and continues on, beyond the physical and the finiteness of our lives and bodies.
I think it is beautiful.

I've experienced people who've passed on several occassions. It's usually people who are close, family members etc. I used to work with developmentally disabled adults and two of them died during my time with them and each time I had an extended vision of them and a huge surge of gratitude for walking with them here. They continue to guide me now and have acted as a bridge to a massive soul group, some here some on the other side, that I'm very close to.

 

its a lovely almost warm feeling of contact like all this that often makes me wonder if even our animals we choose are grateful for the love and care we give them. I know my dog is super protective over me..and my cat used to run to the door almost barking when someone knocked!! hairs stuck on end and everything..
but i also wonder if animals that bond well with humans eventually evolve a soul and when they die with human love feel the need to return to a physical dimension we percive in a different spacesuit capable of our more compassionate qualities

 

after my pup Lady passed away I had this dream that I was in this place where people were either walking their pets or were looking for them. I walked around that place calling and calling for Lady. I finally found her playing by a house in a field. My God, she looked so beautiful and healthy. I called her and she started running to me full speed. I braced myself for the impact LOL cause I knew she was going to knock me over. But when her body hit mine the only thing that hit me was this Absolutely incredible feeling of joy and love that went thru my whole being.....I woke sobbing with grief and joy. I will never forget that. I think she is waiting in that place for me.....

 

awww thats so sweet. i wonder whether animals have the love they need when they are not physically with us anymore...i have yet to find mousey, my little mouse that got lost behind the cavity walls...and bugsy my rabbit.

 

At death, your soul departs for higher ground, but the mental energies left behind contain the identity of the person. (The soul has no such identity)

These energies can sometime have a life of their own until they lose their charge.

If you have an encounter with one, it will be the person you knew in life as far as you can tell.
