All you have to do is make it clear that you're interested without scaring him. Best way is to hang out with him til near the end of the party when everyone is tired, then when the time is right sit next to him and just slowly lean on him, put yr head on his shoulder, etc. Even if he says: "Get off me you bummer", you're probably still ok.
