I dropped three hits of really good shit so bare with me.

Once upon a time I typed this:

"I came across some good stuff and I was wondering the best time to trip for most people? I hear orange juice and/or alcohol intensifies the effect.

Saturday night, I took 4 hits to start, smoked some weed and had more or less the best trip of my life. I got home, dropped 4 more and continued to have great visuals. Sunday, I dropped a ten strip and it was alright, but the visuals weren't as intense as the night before. Was this due to tolerance?

And how long should I wait for my tolerance? I had a total of 18 hits over 48 hours."

I got this response:

Although I have heard this as well from anecdotal evidence, the science behind it actually shows the opposite. Orange juice contains alot of vitamin C, which along with vitamin B, suppress LSD trips.

Quote:
The other was Vitamin C, which ameliorated the confusion associated, often,
with LSD. The researches commented strongly on the alteration of the
effect: people who pre-treated with Vitamin C "tripped" but were less
inclined to "get lost" in the experience and apparently maintained a less
conspicuous social poise. (The potency of the LSD was also somewhat
reduced, but this did not account for the _qualitative_ difference in the
experience for these people, according the researchers.)

The study didn't relate the dosages or interval between Vitamin C and LSD
administration. However, the "street knowledge" about this is:

1. The Vitamin C can prevent (sort of) the LSD experience if they are
consumed together, especially if the Vitamin C dose is large (1 gram or
more). A sort of mild up-and-down experience can result from this
combination
2. Taking the Vitamin C two hours before LSD works well.
3. Taking enough Vitamin C to saturate the tissues works well if enough
time is allowed (2 hrs., perhaps less).
4. The LSD effect is slightly weaker, quantitatively speaking, than without
Vitamin C, and ends sooner too.
5. It's typically easier to sleep afterwards also.
6. The "sense" of time, and of distances, is less disturbed with also.

On the other hand, grapefruit juice has been scientifically proven to uninhibit the brain and allow it to better bind both Cannaboids and LSD, enhancing the trip. (I haven't tried this myself yet so can't speak on it's effectiveness. Will try next time I dose.)

Grapefruit juice has been found to interact with many oral drugs when taken concomitantly. Studies have shown that grapefruit juice inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4)- an important enzyme involved in drug metabolism- via mechanism-based inactivation. Drug elimination is therefore prevented, and as a result, the bioavailability of many orally administered drugs is substantially increased when the patient ingests grapefruit juice.

[Always check any medications you are taking or other drugs, as grapefruit juice has been shown to cause unpleasant side effects when combined with certain drugs]

Alcohol is a depressant, which is a class of drugs used commonly in hospitals when treating someone on an LSD trip, to severely restrict or even abort the experience. No one knows how this works, it is suspected that the tranquilizing effects of depressants simply make it difficult for the mind to continue in "acid overdrive" and thus to revert back to sobriety. I have heard many people tell me they love to drink on acid, it makes the experience better, etc, but what I think is happening is that you simply become drunk while on acid, which must feel very intense, even though the acid trip itself is unquestionably diminished. I have decided I no longer will drink alcohol on acid, as it seems counterproductive. Lsd is such a better experience than booze.

Tolerance on acid is quickly built up, which is one reason why it is not addictive, and takes approximately 3 days to wear off completely. It makes perfect sense that 10 strips would not affect you much the day after you drop 8. Next time give it at least 2 days, preferably 3+.

kk, now that you have the background. Three days ago I dropped 18 hits over two days. I thought my tolerance was fucked.

About an hour ago I dropped three hits and drank a shit ton of grapefruit juice. I know a bunch of bipolar people and they're not supposed to go near grapefruits so I figured there might actually be some basis in this.

Anyway I dropped and drank grapefruit juice. Off of three hits, I'm tripping very nicely. I haven't even had to smoke yet. You guys should give it a try.

Shake it sleazy.

You guys should really try grapefruit juice. I have auditory hallucinations. Some things sound metally (best word I could think of) and I think people are talking to me when no one is around, etc.

Visuals aren't as impressive as a couple days ago but I'm only an hour or so into the trip. Lots of interesting sensations.

Its now almost 24 hours later and I'm still a little out of it. Very mild visuals and breathing. I was able to sleep from 4am until roughly 11am. My dreams were amazing and everything I saw I felt. Its hard to explain.

Now that I'm down I'm going to drink grapefruit juice two hours before my next trip (next Thursday) so that my flesh is 'saturated' like above suggests. What was weird about this trip was it took FOREVER to peak so maybe I had to digest the grapefruit juice before the I dropped the acid. I dropped three hits, drank a fuck ton of juice and then maybe two hours later was on fire. I have a feeling that maybe ingesting the juice and the acid at the same time slowed down my peaking.

Some things that were absolutely amazing:

"Trippy Eye Trick" uploaded by Jing11, I was able to visualize anything I wanted and when I first started watching this was when I first started peaking. When I looked away, oh dear me. I don't know if there's any correlation but its a fucking amazing video either way. Some videos made me feel like my mind was ripping open and I was tearing through the fabric of space.

There's a lot of others I watched on that list. Some are fake and meant to fuck with you. Watch them before you trip, make a playlist, drop and watch the playlist. Or I'll finally make a playlist and post links. Whatever.
