heres what happened, yesterday at about noon i smoked a joint of purple kush with a buddy, and later i was burning out so i chilled in bed and watched tv. I then fell asleep, and next thing i know, i wake up wiht a 39.5 degree celsius fever (about 103 farenhiet i think) and feelin pretty shitty. i still feel pretty shitty. did the weed i smoked have anything to do with me randomly getting sick right after? also, i blaze only about once a week, and the last time i blazed before yesterday was like 2 or so weeks ago...

Maybe your mate was a carrier for the flu?

Cannabis doesn't give you a cold, it's a coincidence or your friend probably gave it to you.

ya you get sick from germs. Not from Cannabis...you can pass germs when you smoke but smoking its self wont give you a virus.

^^^exactly. Smoking weed won't give you a flu or cold or any other disease caused by a pathogen(germ). the flu is caused by one of a variety of influenza viruses. the cold is caused by bacteria. Sharing a pipe gave transmit the flu or cold from person to person, but the pot didn't perse causee the illness.

As far as you friend being the carrier that gave you the flu, its unlikely. The incubation period on the flu before becoming symptomatic is longer than 24 hours.

    Cheers

hmm yeah thats true, its highly unlikely that my friend gave it to me since i got sick about 4 hours after smoking up...i guess it couldve weakened my immune system, i was feeling a little under the weather earlier that day. either way this really sucks..

I've gotten sick a lot less since I started smoking weed. So I don't think the weed caused your flu at all.

But you are passing a joint around. If your friend carried the flu then you would catch it from his saliva. I've gotten sick from smoking hookah at parties with sick people.
