Permanent Piercing Hole/Scar?

I'm considering neither a vertical lip or an eyebrow piercing but I've been hesitant because I wasn't sure if you could be able to remove it and easily be able to put it back in later (like after work for example) Also I was wondering what kind of hole/mark it would leave. I don't want to have a permanent hole right there below my lip whenever I want take it out to "dress" up or whatever. Any advice or suggestions?

I had a labret for 3 years. 2 years later i still have the hole below my lip. It's only noticeable when i'm clean cut. But i mostly have a billy goat thing going on i rarely see the hole. Gee, i wounder whats gonna happen when i decide to take out my nipple rings(if i do decide that) I've have them far longer then my labret. Everybody different though. Hope i was of some help

 

Yeah, you were a little help haha. I asked some friends and they all say you will have noticable holes and scarring which really turns me off if I ever decide to leave them out indefinately. In one of my college classes the girl who sits next to me has a lip ring and alternates wearing it in and out. When she doesn't wear it I only see is tiny, tiny, blemish, that's it. Then on the other hand people are telling me you'll have quite a noticable hole and scarring. So I just wanted to get the facts before I go through with it. I would imagine having a brow ring wouldn't be as bad since your eyebrows cover any holes but I don't know. Could use more input about the subject since I've been wanting to have some facial piercing for awhile now.

 

I had a side lip piercing for 3 years. I've had it out for one year and still have a pretty noticable hole below my lip. I had a navel piercing for a year. Now, four years later i still have a very visible hole where the peircing was. It looks as if it's still pierced when it isn't.

But as it was said, everyone is different.

 

Damn, I want one so bad but if it's gonna leave a permanent, very noticeable hole when I don't have jewelry in, I just don't know.

 

You can always cover up the hole with make-up or something

 

To be honest the hole is so small it doesn't really notice. I've had my eyebrow pierced for years and most people don't notice the hole when I take it out.

 

I've had a labret, side lip, and nipples and all of them are out and completely healed..the only thing I have there now is a tiny scar. And when I took them out for job interviews or what not I put in plastic and you really couldn't tell they were there at all. But the person above was right, everyone is different. Like some people can keep theres out without putting anything in it and it stays open so they can just pop jewelry back in, but if I leave mine out for a hour it grows up. So it's really a personal decision...piercings kick ass though!!!

 

That is true, they do, very much, kick ass. Fuck it, I'm doing it anyway. If for whatever reason I need them out and a scar or hole is left I'll just use some scar cream or shit.

 

My labret is still pierced- so i dunno about scaring,but when I put in a retainer it doesn't look like much at all. At worst it looks like I might have a blackhead above my chin.
I have a few acne scars and I can't imagine it will scar me any worse than some of them.
