A person does not have eternal life because they are a good person but because they accepted Jesus as their lord and savior.

Yep Yep, " Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone." " Romans 9:32, if you still have problems \ don't understand this then i sugest you read the whole of Romans it is prety much all about this and lets you know where it all stands, BUT this doesn't mean that works aren't also important just read James afterwards and then you will have the full story.

I suggest you study a little deeper into Christianity. People make errors in translations also. The bible has also been corrupted by the church over time. It is a book written by man, man makes errors, man sometimes also takes advantage of people.

Now I know what your thinking, "Thats not christian!!" Yup im still christian. Im just not gullible. I take everything into account before I believe something is true. Example: The bible is something you CANNOT take literally. Its more like guidelines like any other religious book. Where should I start, Genesis of course, "The earth was made in 7 days." You cannot take that literally. Seven days to God could be millions of eons to us.

whoa...Christ Jesus will win. He won when he took the sin from man on the cross. All we do is come to him and he taketh away our sin. SO to look at it like that he has won. Also he will come again. AND Judge. So thats twice.

I hope you can come to under stand that darkness is only temporay and good ness will and always prevail.

Let me clue you in on something. You'd have to read the bible at least 3 times a day to beat me in jerking off. I highly doubt you do that.

Er...I've never heard of that. I know it says that a fool saith in his heart that there is no God.

    well said.

and airforcedrew don't you think God being all powerfull and that might try and make sure that his word doesn't get fucked around too much don't you think he might have enough inteligence (being omnipotent, omnipresent and the third one i alwasy forget,) to keep his word from being changed surely if you can have faith in our lord then have enough faith that his word has been kept holy and true!

    wtf?

If he allowed the world to go to shit in the first place why the hell do you think he'd be any different with a book?

All powerful or not, he's still awfully incompetent...

we fucked the world up with our own free will, but in the same way there are many people doing alot of good things in the name of Jesus, and working to put things right and help out in the most fucked up of situations.

if you aren't gonna have faith in the translations what is it that you have your actual faith in? how can you beleive any of it true if it could all be lost in translation, if it has been lost then surely satan will have got into it and have it fucked up hard so that it is so lost that following it would actualy lead you to defy God

in the name of jesus... and what about the millions of people doing a lot of good things, not in the name of jesus? dont forgot, you dont have to be christian to be a good person.
king james altered the new testament, theres no denial of that, but how about faith in.. god? a person doesnt have to read and think every word is true to be a believer, do they? and how do you know that "satan" hasnt corrupted your book, and what you do everyday IS actually defying god. how do you know that it wasnt originally written by followers of satan, to sound good but in reality is defying what god wants. just a random thought.. not trying to start a fight :H

i didn't mean to make it sound sepratist obviusely there are many people doing good stuff just 'cause they are good people and not necesarily in the name of any faith, it's a good point about how it could all be flipped and made by satanists, but it is the same kinda point that we could be all flipped upside down with our values, like why is Good good and Bad bad, like in practice you could think of S&M whipping and scary shit like that is "good" it is like the flip reverse of what is seen as right, it is really cool to try and think about stuff like that but just one of those annoying questions that get your head baked and should really be in the mind fuck section.

    but yeah fair comment

    hmmmm...

how did king james alter the bible?
if you compare a douai (from jerome's vulgate latin version)(catholic) bible & a king james (protestant/CoE) bible (aside from the repositioning (& occasional exclusion) of the apocrypha & the positioning of the footnotes) - they are much the same...

& much of the king james translation in the 1600s in england (in spite of the fact that it was done in prayerful consideration by a picked group of theologians & language specialists) was lifted _directly_ from the prior english translations (though persecuted for his efforts) by wyckliffe & others who worked to translate the christian scriptures from the latin (& sometimes from the original greek & hebrew - this is what dr luther did in germany in the 1500s) texts into the vernacular - in this case a rather poetic english...

and what about martin luther's translation of the new testament, old testament, & apocrypha? still used in germany today, by catholics & by lutherans & by reform church as well...
    ~
& as to the "missing books of the bible (other than the "apocrypha") --- these were winnowed out during the first couple/few centuries of the common era (A.D. means "anno domini" = the year of our lord)...
the "canonical books" were selected around the time of emperor constantine, during some of the early "churchwide councils" (at which time also some of the early "heresies" were also rooted out - not always easily or peacefully, either...)

A chaplains assists to everyones need on the feild. You have to be well versed in all religions.

But I want to be a chaplains asst. right now. Which is his bodyguard, because a chaplain can't carry a weapon.

Tell me one way that im doing satans work. Just because im not as essentric as you? Just because im not as closeminded as you? Just because im not as gullible as you? Sounds like your taking your insecurities out on me, and justifying it by calling me satanic. Get a grip. Were all christian here, why can't we just support each other as christian, and stop trying to point out the differences with each other.

Oh and its spelled Chaplain by the way.
