Hello hello, I would like to pose a question to the informed people on this forum. I'm not a stoner, but I suppose more of a "casual" smoker... i only smoke a couple times a month, although i wish it was more! Anyways. I was looking to buy some weed off my friend's boyfriend. She asked me how much we should get. I was thinking a couple grams, so i say "i dunno, how about an eighth?" She replies "sure but theres no such thing as an eighth lol" Wow I felt like a freaking idiot! I'm no expert on the magnificant reefer (I only started smoking about a year ago) but.... I thought an eighth was 3.5 grams?? Who's right? Thanks!
You know there are some dealers who won't deal that low. 1/4 +. But it seems like your friend probably gets freebies (or isn't too bright)
if she dont know what an 1/8 is dont buy from hrer chances are she only deals in nickles and dimes and doesnt even weigh em
Exactly what I thought when I read it. Dealers that don't know measurements usually sell low quality shit. Or it might be that she's a dumbass.

You are in Canada. They do not use ounces in most areas, or so I believe. I clearly remember Lauren (l-foote) talking about always picking up 30 or 40 grams, never ounces, since ounces are not part of the metric system. Grams are part of the metric system that is based on 10, every country uses the metric system except the United States of America. So...you were wrong. Sorry. One ounce equals 28.3495231 grams.
whoa, everyone's all twisted up over this. it's probably just terminology. what i call bots (bottle tokes) someone else may call funnels. see, this is the funny thing. i always hear 1/8th on tv, or on this forum. i'm guessing this is an american thing. i've only heard the term half quarter thrown around for a 3.5 grammer. and before someone types out another math lesson, yes i understand half of a quarter would be an eighth, but hey that's just what we call it. yeah, i think it's a regional thing. maybe try asking for a half quarter. see where that gets you.
Your dog looks fucking awesome. marmalade.skies, it looks like your dealer is just using the metric system, but you may have US populated forums, and/or your previous dealer may have based his measurements by ounces. ...I try to explain things when stoned.
the way we used to do it is when dealin with my dealer who was always a freind wed seperate an ounce into 2 poiles for a 1/2 and pick whiucheverlooked nicest or moved a few buds here n there till looked close as even as we could eyeball then just pick whichever 1 looked best wed measure if we were doin more for sellin (not sure that ever actualy happened was stoned at the time cant really remember & thats my deffence i was too stoned to remebner if it ever actualy happened or not ) for personal use tho wed always just eyeball it n make sure every1 was happy
