What are the guidelines for new members?

eh I'm usually on here because I don't feel good or because I have nothing better to do, so mostly i'm in a bad mood on HF. I'll be mean if the person makes it easy.


but sometimes even that is too much work.

I used the opposite tactic.

At first I would make neutral comments and ask unassuming questions. I expected to be ignored.

Then little by little, and especially after I posted a pic, everybody started talking to me. But I really owe a lot of it to KC.

 

i'm a good sponsor.

 

I haven't seen anyone being ganged up on.

I have seen a few newbies come in thinking they know everything about this place and every other forum... with a certain attitude of entitlement... and that just doesn't quite fly here...

Just my opinion...

 

meh. there's been a time or two that we've acted like sharks in chummed water. still, i don't feel bad about it.

 

I've been around for a while, and I noticed that here in RT people are a bit more sarcastic than in the other ones. Sarcasm doesn't really translate well over the internets, so it comes across as being mean.

 

I did have run ins with a couple people, though.

BraveSirRubin famously, over the Niggas Are Stupid or something or over thread. And, shroom and greenfairie a bit. But nothing too bad.

I remember, when I was really new, exercising restraint over Cate's immigrant thread.

But all of that seems a long time ago for some reason.

Eh I was never ganged up on. I was flamed a few times....but I like that because I find it funny. And I still miss SBG and the freedom I once had to be a total **** on this forum.

I have never really felt attacked or ganged up on here.
Though I have felt like the very obvious " noob" here on some threads.I have found most people quite welcoming,and friendly.
In fact, I have found it much tamer here than some parenting boards I have visited,lol.

or,I maybe a bit of an over experienced message board surfer.

 

Seriously who actually reads forum guidelines?

 

I have been around long enough to disagree with bird.

 

I like how you can't as a newbie disagree with Bird and yet Bird made a topic asking people if they agreed or disagreed with him.

And I dont think I have never been ganged up against before on the internet.

 

Some folks invite abuse. It would be impolite to refuse.

i see no reason why i should have to withhold my opinion for the sake of someone elses comfort level, no matter how new i am in anything.

that's ridiculous.

this is the world wide web and we are living in the 21st century, are we not?
grow up people.

not to mention this is a FORUM. comments are to be expected and welcomed. right? i mean, why else would anyone make a post on here, to have it be ignored?

opinions will always differ and someone will always be the new kid in school.

just learn to roll with it.
