LOL, you are tryign to tell me that weed is the plant that will end hunger? Correct me if I am wrong here, but I seem to remember in my young and stupid days of smoking weed that afterwords I found my self hungry. It didn't end my hunger, it added to it. This is pathetic. I do not doubt that God created hemp for a purpose. But smoking it to get high and alter your perception of reality around you doesn't fit.
Everyone always like to use this verse in their defense. Notice the line, "To you it shall be for meat". It doesn't say entertainment, it says nourishment.
You're clearly uneducated. First, the wine it speaks of in the Bible days wasn't alchoholic. Just do basic research and you'll know what it was. Second, Jesus did not have long hair. The Bible says it's a shame unto man to have long hair. When artists first started drawing up pictures, they made just about everyone with long hair. Why? It was the style in that artist's time. Just like how many catholic pictures have just about everyone with halos around their heads. It was the "in" thing to do at the time, when making drawings. As for carpentry, well, go ask some carpenters around town. I doubt they make a business out of making smoking pipes. They probably work on houses, you'd think?
Sounds like a little undereducation in this post. Quote me one scripture where it says the wine was non alchoholic. And when you find it, in the real bible let me know. For two when wine ferments, it becomes alchoholic. Ya know what non alchoholic wine is? Juice. So why didn't they say they were drinking juice? Because it was wine.
i dont think catholics just put halos on their characters as a style thing. they put them above all the saints heads and jesus and holy people, no one else
Why are you even talking about wine? Yes, they drank wine, but to get drunk was not good. Anyways, the argument for smoking weed will not be won here. There is no evidence in The Bible that supports your theories.
There is no evidence because weed wasn't illegal or even an issue until the last 100 years or so, when the world became smaller and smaller due to faster modes of transportation, and the media. Medicine was in such a primitive form that weed was not even classified or it was thrown in with gardening plants. Agriculture used to be this world's staple. Ancient nerds didnt have keyboards to type on, they studies and experimented with plants, how do you think we have so much knowledge about plants today? I think even with all the education we have today, people are stupid about practical life issues and experiences. Secular education is all about filling corporate ranks, not about becoming a whole person or "higher learning" Its a damn shame weed is illegal, we wouldn't be at war if our government and church leaders here and the leaders in the middle east could sit together and puff puff give. Jesus knew this principal to be true even if he didnt own a bong. This world is messed up we have been catagorized and filed down to not know anything at all. History is skewed to fit the needs of the powerful. Jesus was a mutha effin stoner no matter what anyone says.
There is a difference between learning and aplying that knowledge to better our lives. However, smoking weed is not benificial. It harms your lungs. It alters your brain. Take your "I am a teenager and I can do and say whatever I want" attitude out of here. Bleach cleans things really well, oh that must mean I can drink some and everything will be ok! Your idealoligy is childish at best.
They used hemp in those times for many a thing. For clothing, oil, rope, etc. It was also used as a medicine, and they would burn it as an incense for ceremonies. You do not need to smoke pot to get high, you can make a tincture, and even eat it. Bandit, wether you like to agree with this or not. Marijauna is a plant that has lots of positives and of course negatives. I agree with you about people abusing its use. But frankly, Marijauna is much safer than antidepressants, and painkillers like percocet/oxycodone etc. It is even safer than the legal drug Alcohol, which is far worse in effects on the human body. God has given us many plants to use as a healing tool, but in essence anything that causes you to over indulge, and put worldly things before God is a sin. Not just Marijuana. Moderation and intent.
Well, I used to smoke weed, so my mind isn't closed on it, it is expierienced. You say my mind is closed, well, in that same thought, so is yours for refusing to understand what I am saying. Boiling Hemp in water and soaking your hands in said water has been prven to reduce arthrites(sp) pain. Smoking hemp has been proven to alter your mind and impare your judgment. As far as being old and wise. I am 27 and the wisdom I have is God given and life learned. Hence why I refers to your idealoligy as childish, because rebellion is often a trate found in children.
Very well said, Bandit. There is nothing I find more amusing then someone calling another close minded when no one on this earth is completely open minded.
I'm not refusing to understand anything.. I just don't agree with you... I think I'll agree to disagree on this one.. on the subject of marijuana AND religion, it's hard to change anyone's mind. Thanks for calling me childish, though.
Bible says to not take in strong drink. The words we use are sometimes different than what it was years ago. Gay...for example.
I need quotes here. How do we know what "strong drink" meant to them back them. Wine isnt so strong to a person who drinks whiskey all day.
"strong drink" well, neither heat distillation, nor freezing method, were generally known or practiced in that part of the world back in them days... widespread practice in mediterranean (& beyond) was to use wine (or other fermented beverages) as a "vehicle" for other, much stronger ummmm "medicinal" herbs... some greek herbal wines were so strong that they had to be diluted 20-to-1 ... observiing jews were warned against consuming strong drink to help them avoid consuming "pagan" sacraments (& often non-kosher wines were dedicated or blessed in the name of other deities besides jehovah --- dionysius, osiris, demeter, baal, whatever)... and some of the specially fortified herbal wines (& beers, etc) were very potent indeed... after heat distillation became well-known (say ~1400 or so), brandy & whisky & vodka & such became better-known as "strong drink"... in some strains of judaism, it is considered a "mitzvah" (a blessing; a positive event) to become a little bit "lit up"/drunk on wine whilst celebrating... ~ & again, there IS a difference between enjoying a drink or three responsibly, vs. polishing off a fifth of hard stuff & driving your car, or drinking so as to get nasty & abusive & wreck your family, or so plastered ya can't hold down a job, drinking until ya puke or pass out cold several times per month (or per week!), etc... ~ & as to using psycho-active plants (medicinally? "recreationally"?? spiritually???) --- well... why are you using? is your using damaging your ability to be a productive member of the community? is there ever a difference between "use" and "abuse" ? & if so, how do you tell? etc...
Hemp seeds are the most nutritious seed known to man, has the highest level of fatty acids and protein. People in China have used it during famines for thousands of years. There is more to the Cannabis plant than drugs and hemp. By the way, why is "altering our preception" bad? Clearly our ideas about reality are all in our head, if we can so easilly affect it with different things. Even food can change our perceptions (chocolate can, in large quantities, mimic feelings of love, and eating desired food can cause endorphin rushes). Exercise can do the same thing, the "runner's high" is an endorphin rush. Adrenaline rushes that occur during thrill-seeking changes our view of the world too. What is the difference between food and drugs, if they are both just chemicals that do affect our bodily chemistry? Both food and drugs affect levels of seretonin, dopamine, endorphins, and other brain chemicals. Why is it okay to eat food but not to consume drugs? Is it just because you disagree with it?
yeh man hemp is the wonder plant , heaps of industries would fail if we could grow weed legally caus it would be grown hydroponically and in huge amounts for its seeds and stuff. but trippin, im pretty sure endorphins only come out with naturally unpleasant feelings, not foods you desire (unless u desire endorphin promoting foods). foods like these are foods like chillis. hot foods stimulate many nerves, often registering 'pain' and since the pain is from so many nerves, in such a crucial place in the body (throat) but not really that discomforting, we feel the good effects of endorphin production. I dunno if mustard does the same, it might.
