Let me explain myself. By life is for living I mean personal 'growth' and not socialistic 'growth'. In other words; living is personal and not societial. So do you think life is for living or life is for adapting?
life is whatever you make it, so neither option is technically "the right answer." ideally, you should be able to grow both personally and socially at least to some extent
you have to adapt to some degree, in order to avoid being completely ostracized by society. but in the end, both are necessary for happiness. personal growth is more important though, because no matter how well you fit into society, if you never grow as a person you can never be happy.
Interesting question, bird. I guess the only thing it can be for is living your personal dreams, goals, feelings. Some people are more caring, socially aware and considerate than others and for those people, life is obviously a constant compromise between what you want and what others do. My personal motto sorta varies between both... Live and Let Live.
