Adding on 4/20 traditions

Firstly, happy 420!

I was in the shower a bit ago, pondering... To non-stoners, this holiday is just seen as a lot of pot smoking.. and it generally is. What if we were to try and broaden it? What I mean by this is, if we all started giving the holiday a really good name, maybe by doing a good deed at the same time, more of us would be viewed as good people and it would accelerate the entire process of eventual legalization. That and we would feel good about it at the same time. For instance, if we all decided to donate something or help someone in some way. Nobody can complain about helping others, we need to all be viewed as good natured stoners, and not "useless druggies" as many see us. Now, this doesn't mean spend your whole day doing it, as much of this day is about relaxation, but maybe getting together a box of old clothes and stuff to drop off at a local animal shelter's thrift store or something. You'll feel good about it and if so many people start to do something for somebody on this day every year, it will be noticed. I also think it wouldn't hurt to wish random people a happy 420, even if you don't know if they smoke or not. At least this will raise questions, "what is 420?" and you can explain further. Maybe more ideas could be added to this thread, I just think it would be great to see 4/20 really progress.

Call congress and tell your congress person to support HR 5843. This piece of legislation would effectively end federal prohibition on marijuana. I realize this is sort of a one-time thing, but I think If you got thousands of people to call it would make a really big difference. I like the idea of making a new tradition too. Maybe if people had free concerts or something.

 

Yah, relax on 420, but also get out their and make sure people know stoners can be good people.

 

420 is the celebration of all things green so on 420 we should go out and greeen our neighbourhoods and parks smoke openly while we do but plant seeeds everywhere plant trees flowers bushes and yes maybe a few pot seeds but dont do it about planting a forrest of pot to get high do it for the beautification the food (if u canj plant veggie gardens) and the love your shgaring with your neighybourhood
ifr every potsmoker in america planted 1 tree a year on 420 slowly a forrest would form coast to coast

pick a town any town and i bet theres a few hundred stoners if in every town coast to coast every single year several hundreds to several thousand trees flowers and bushes popped up every place would be more beuatiful, ..with pot smokers to thank, visible results that last

organise cleanups and projects to bring ppl together.. theres a ton u can do if its not all about the smoke

getting high should be number 99 on the top 100 list of reasons to leagalize
it should be there but far lower priority then all other reasons
