How many times (if ever) have you ever told people that you do not masturbate? I believe that, socially speaking, masturbation is a taboo subject for most conversations. One-on-one, that statement may be less accurate, as we hear of many instances of mutual masturbation, as well as masturbation being a big part of couple's sexual activities. While not a normal topic of conversation in my life today, when younger and more naaive, I'm sure I told people that I did not masturbate, and I'm sure they chuckled inside. Is it healthy to speak about masturbation?
Lol. No one at school, except for some of the girls, does not admit to masturbating, mainly because we all know that all of the guys do it. It seems to me that the subject of masturbation is becoming less taboo.
I think the matter of pride can be a factor as well. There are those say who don't because they have a girl to handle that. Sure they can laugh at those who do admit to masturbating...they basically can make a somewhat classification that they don't have a girl to fool around with. Though there was only 1 time that discussion happened in which I was apart of... Meh, it's more of a given rather a question for guys.
Extensive surveys have shown that 95% of males admit to masturbating. The surveys also indicate that 5% of males are liars! Sorry, old joke. But when I was a teen, masturbation was not mentioned or admitted to and we all thought we were the first guys to have discovered this nasty (tho extremely pleasurable) new thing with our dicks. In high school, my buddy Steve, when leaving the group going home said he was going to go sit on the toilet and jack off. That admission showed Steve had real confidence and it opened the way for all us guys in our group to finally openly admit to doing the nasty. This was before the sexual revolution and all that tell-it-like-it-is and do-it-in-the-road mindset.
When the woman is out of town, we jokingly refer to that time as "Quality Masturbation Time" at the office. Another guy says when his wife leaves town, he gets a jar of peanutbutter and calls the dog. It's nothing we openly talk about, but it does get mentioned more now than when I was young.
i believe it is healthy to speak about masturbation and all other aspects of sex.. i grew up up in a household where it was an open topic.. my mother never hid anything from me.. and i think i grew up to be a more informed and well rounded adult for it..
I firmly believe that a lot of people don't masturbate, just like some people don't even have sex once a year. My wife for instance doesn't masturbate at all and she thinks masturbation is a sick practice; she will never understand. I have to hide to do it and if she finds "used" paper towel or my stained boxer shorts in the hamper, she gives me hell. The truth is, whatever she says and thinks won't make me stop, because I just can't.
