I was recently watching the boob-tube, and saw the pope being hauled around in what looked to be a bulletproof glass "container". On that fact, I question his faith... Would he not rather be picked off by a sniper and go to heaven than sit on this scummy planet? If there is some great need for this old guy than please tell me what it is. Also, what is your opinion on him and the situation?
Anytime you put up barriers, you add to the mystique of the one behind it. They become untouchable. Like the Beatles, or a US president. The fact that God is quite touchable proves what side they're on. This is one of the biggest of the religious dinosaurs that still roam the planet. It should be meeting an timely death this century. x
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...Benedict_XVI_security/articleshow/2104073.cms According to Catholic doctrine, the pope is the vicar of Christ, so it makes sense to want to keep him around Besides, no one wants to die. As Jesus said too, God is the god of the living, not of the dead. Of what situation do you speak?
His mission is of benefit to mankind. Do you remember a previous assination on a Pope? He is a target for wierdo's. Also.......He soesn't get the 72 virgins, thats another creed.
hes like the catholic dalai lama, hes pretty much the leader of the catholics and the catholic church
God is the god of life? Hmmm... Wel since I am alive now and have on many occasions asked to him make some sort of action to help me know more about Christianity he doesn't. So after death, he plays no role?
Well the passage that I reffereced is Jesus rebuttle when people ask him if someone has many spouses in their lifetime, who will be their spouse in heaven (acctually, the people were Saudecees, who didn't believe in the ressurection according to Matthew). He says then that God is not god of the dead but of the living. There is really no explanation as to what it means...
Why would god let someone kill the pope? If someone kills him surely that shows that there either isn't a god or that he isn't what people think he is?
He's an elected official. Thats all. A clerk with a wardrobe. He manages the affairs of an EARTHLY institution. Proclaimed holy by signing a piece of paper, not by the "usual" way. Proclaimed holy by those who employ him. Nice gig if you can get it. x
It isn't the person who is holy, but the office. That is why the sacrament of becoming a clergy (nun, priest, bishop, etc) is called Holy Orders.
In my world, "things" are not holy. Only people. I think the church has it backwards, and this is reflected in how they present their view of things. I don't see any spiritual guiding force at work. What I do see is a bunch of people trying to keep alive the words of a dead master from 2000 years ago. That's not what a spiritual path is about. Do you want to be a museum curator for somebody else's words? Or do you want to find those words within yourself? You would have no need of the church then, or their leaders in funny hats. x
God helps those who help themselves. Whether it is the Pope's time to go or not, he should still take all the precautions he can to insure his safety. To say that he should not ride around in the bubble just because he is the Pope is no better than to demand that he jump into the Grand Canyon b/c if God is real he will surely save him.
he doesnt claim hes a god, because thats blasphemy. the whole religious heirarchy is a made up catholic thing, no offense to catholics, and i a little over the edge(i dont want to say stupid but...)
Love your sig Steve I love the Zep And Gandhi's mission will eventually be uncovered as a universal noble one.
