So. . . My shift ended 30 minutes ago. My ride is practically never late, and when he is, it's marginal.

He's sleeping and most likely didn't get up when his alarm went off.

I'm fucked. Atleast it's warm in here. :&

What's the worst place you've ever found yourself stranded?

I've been "stranded" twice. First time was when I went to take my GED. I finished real fast, faster than my mom expected, so when I called her to come pick me up she was eating lunch. I waited an hour, maybe a little longer for her. I was so pissed. There was no place to sit, I was waiting by the door the whole time.

Second time was one of the times I went to the DMV to take the road test. Got there at 7:30 and had to wait in this huge line. The place didn't even open until 8. Anyway, while I waited my mom had run over to the gas station. When I got to the door they told me they were booked already, so I called my mom and she made me wait in the parking lot like 45 minutes. Again, very pissed. For the record, if I ever make my parents wait more than ten or fifteen minutes, they get upset with me.

I got stranded at work many times, when hubby used to pick me up after his shift -and he ended up there OT. sucked.

...but I have been stranded much worse places, like the side of the road when our car broke down.

I wish this was going to be a set time. I'm just flat out stranded. Pretty much zero chance of my ride showing up at this point. Now I can sleep at work, which would probably cause a major problem; sleep outside which would result in being removed from the property by security; or I can walk home 5 miles through the ghetto in the middle of the night. . . This is fuckin' lovely

    Huh?

    You're an absolute doll, btw.

Thankfully the other guy that's still here I think notified some people that we work with that I was stuck and they're going to come back for me. :D

    Doesn't mean I don't appreciate ya though, cause I do. ;)

i don't recall every being truly stranded...

my truck broke down on the turnpike once, but i was able to pay a tow truck to tow me down to the town where my dad works.

i've been stuck downtown with no ride a couple times (probably about 5 miles from where i lived at the time). one time i was on mushrooms with one other friend... we eventually caught a ride with a stranger...

the other time was when i was released after my DUI; my truck was where they picked me up and my keys (including those to my apartment) were at a different police station... so i walked the 5 or so miles to where i worked in the rain... in december... with no jacket...

At a resort in the Dominican Republic. In the lobby for about 8 hours. Our bus was supposed to pick us all up for the airport at 4pm, but the flights were all delayed due to snowstorms in Montreal...so the bus didn't come until around midnight. Then we had to wait around at the airport... We didn't get home until almost a day later.
