    Hey all,

Using a westell DSL modem with Verizon DSL, and have recently added a linksys wireless 4 port router. Used the router's setup disc and it gave the router (DHCP server) and all pc's connected to it 192.168.0.1 (.101,.102, and so on) while the modem stayed 192.168.1.1

I've set up a web server in my local network, with a domain name pointing to my external IP. My problem is how to make the modem (.1.1) send the request back to the router (.0.1) and then the router port forward to the server.

When I try to set the modem to forward to 192.168.0.1 it says "Address is not part of the private subnet"

    Any1 have any ideas??

    Thanks

    Nd

That router should actually have 4 ports for the private network and 1 port for the external network. Make sure the modem is plugged into the router via the 1 external network port. Then press the reset button on the modem, finally press the reset button on the router. In that order and use a paper clip.

The DSL IP address should not be on 192.168.x.x.
