majority? I'm afraid that the vote would be taken over by the conservatives who want to take over; lets just keep it legal; and if women don't want it, don't do it. Its as simple as that. I don't understand why the anti abortion people have to always butt into other people's lives... yeah, if they see it as murder, well then I guess they can quit eating their McDonalds too, since that ends a life too.
Yeah, I wouldn't be totally against an all-female vote, but it really gives the "pro-life" (anti-choice) mob way more credit than they deserve. The law, as it stands, is pro-choice, not pro-abortion, so someone who does not have an abortion needn't. It's only those who want to impose their will on others that see this as a problem. The artificial womb thing would be great if it worked, but it's a long way off, and I don't know, would anyone here actually use one, given the option? I'm straying from it as an alternative to abortion here, but I'm curious because it seems like something that would potentially iron out one of the few biologically inherent differences between the sexes.
(wow, reading this, i realize, you're really sick in the head. You know what? I'm a woman. And you're not better than me. I don't behave, I'm rebellious, and proud. I read books and educate myself. i take part in debates. I will never respect you because you see me as less than you. I am a human being just like you, and I am equal to you. I have just as much right to live as you. You really are a sick fuck. I love my boyfriend because he sees me as an equal on all levels; we're partners, a team. We make love and enjoy it. We're spending the rest of our lives together and following our own path, our own rules.) So basically what you are saying is that you can' argue with my logic, so you will just insult me personally instead. *shrugs* I guess if you don't want to have a discussion, I can't force you to.
Aactually I did argue... I'm exactly what you hate in women; I'm intelligent and educated. *Gasp* I read books! *double gasp* I have an opinion!?
What makes you think I hate educated intelligent women? I absolutely love educated intelligent women. However, they only comprise 1% of the western female populace. Just because you train a monkey to play a flute doesn't make him a musician. You say you did argue? No, you didn't. To continue the discussion, you would have directly addressed one or more of the points I made. But you didn't. You resorted to personal insults, which as I have stated, have no place in furthering a discussion. And you shall not see me resorting to them.
I can't help noticing you start calling this person names without really answering any of his valid arguments. Btw, I'd agree with your point about living life your own way, if only no one else got hurt.
Depends; which human? You can read it two ways. I'd say that there's no point in having "consistent" laws if they cause serious injustice in the process. So if someone's arguing that abortion is the same as murder, or that being anti-abortion means you HAVE to be a vegan as well, I'd just laugh at them. I was hoping that was the point.
I think that whole idea is naive (no offense, of course ) I don't think people or groups who proclaim themselves as "pro-life" have a clue about what they're talking about, to be honest. They're either incredibly stupid, or brainwashed with religious doctrine. I'm pro-choice, 100%. The government can only interfere so far into a woman's life. It's bad enough that you have to practically get on your knees and beg for an abortion in the doctor's office already. They make you go through psychological tests to make sure you "know what you're doing". Those people are complete idiots. I'm sure if the tables were turned and they wanted an abortion, they would demand that it be done right away. If the child is created out of assault, the woman should have the right to terminate the fetus. How could people think that she should walk around for nine months knowing that the thing growing inside her is a product of violence?
you mean the innocent baby/human life growing inside her. it's a bitter pill for certain. my heart goes out to any woman in this situation with this difficult decision.
