Who the fuck cares about everyone elses lives. Do not dwindle upon others but cherish your own life and pay attention to the things that are going on around you. Take others into consideration... but its gay to gossip about fucking celebrities

Agreed, though you used the word "gay"...
maybe you should look up that word before you throw it around, eh?

I agree. Gossip, especially celebrity gossip pisses me off. Why the fuck do people care about Paris Hilton? I get so pissed when my sister turns on her stupid MTV or E! shows with so much fake drama. Go die in a fire. Please.

people usually talk about celebrities to avoid opening up to others and revealing their feelings and thoughts.
they are neutral topics , so people don't have to expose themselves in coversation.

it's stupid, but it's also necessary sometimes, cos if people didn't gossip about celebrities, they'd trash real people, and that's always tricky

Celebrities go through much of the same drama that normal human beings do, but often on a bigger and outrageously publicized scale.

Therefore, real life drama-tards like to think they can "empathize" with famous rich people, which makes them feel more important.

    I care.

Well, I don't really "care". I pay attention, because it is amusing. Thats kind of the opposite of caring, but whatever.

If it bugs you, just ignore it. I mean, I don't watch American Idol or participate in celebrity gossip, but I respect that others are into it. I agree that it's generally pretty vapid, but it's there for a reason it's there. That's the great thing about America, right? That we can all have our own interests? Don't hate on stuff just 'cause you're not turned on by it.

My roommate is Bosnian, just moved to the US last year, and is FASCINATED by celebrity culture. I don't get it, but it's what makes her happy, so I deal with it.

People talk about other people to make them selves feel better, on most occaisions anyways, I had a friend, who constantly talked bad about people, thats all she ever did when we were together, people on the t.v, people in magazines, people walking on the street, her own friends, god it was never ending. According to her, angeline jolie is ugly....hahahaha!!! If this girl was at least one per cent good looking maybe she could get away with it, but she isnt.

I'm not too big on celebrity gossip either. Sure, it's fun to hear about it once in a while, but not all the time (especially not on the evening news).

I think it is unfortunate that many people would rather read about the personal lives of celebrities than current events. Nevertheless, the personal lives of celebrities are easier to comprehend. Many people lack the education, and let’s face it the basic intelligence to understand something like the increases in the national debt under Presidents Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., & Jr., and what those increases do to the U.S. economy. Anyone can understand a Hollywood party where Celebrity X showed up without her boy friend, and wonder what this means about their relationship, and so on.

I think st3wy is from the UK.
In contemporary culture, the word 'gay' also has pejorative non-sexualized usage (especially among younger generations) to mean 'rubbish'; for something not considered good. The use of the term in this manner is contentious.

Yeah I don't read the newspaper (except sports) or watch the 6 o'clock news because its all negative bullshit that I don't care to hear about, 75% of the crap in there is outrageous and over magnetized, especially about celebrities, they can write anything they want and people will believe it
