I was just wondering if any of you found it strange to be on a forum with people of all ages ranging from those in their teens to others into their fifties. Personally, believe that it is great that younger men and women are able to freely and openly talk to and get advice from experienced adults with varied opinions. But on other forums I often found that the adults would estrange themselves from the younger crowd in their own separate threads. What does anyone else think of this?
As with many things, especially regarding sexual matters, it does have its positive & negative points. On the positive side the forum can be an excellent place for the frank exchange of ideas, as well as an educational source, particularly for those just entering into the world of masturbation, which is a normal & healthy activity that should be encouraged among everyone of a sexually mature age, and under ideal conditions the forums can be a way of demonstrating that it really is something that people of all ages do & that the fact that they do so is nothing to be ashamed of. However, on the negative side we should all be aware that forums such as these are also going to be a honey pot for attracting the flies known as paedophiles. It doesn't take much to recognise the predatory type in here as they are often the ones claiming to be 14 - 15 (for example), looking to pair up with others of same age range for mutual webcam enjoyment, often accompanied with phrases such as "I don't have a webcam yet" or "My webcam isn't working, but I can watch you if you like". Many of this sort are also dumb enough not to adjust their true ages in their profiles as well, so immediate conflict of claims are often immediately evident, although it should be recognized that just because the age range in the profile says that they're only a teenager, it doesn't mean they really are. Another negative side, of course, is the way the forums result in getting flooded with posting of MSN / AIM / Yahoo Idents, in the vague hope of getting a bit of perving in - once again, more often than not those of a predatory paedophile nature. I believe that a healthy exchange of information within the forums is one thing, but I would also agree that they could do with a better level of monitoring to remove inappropriate posts as soon as possible.

We were discussing this on the site announcement forum, concerning moving the servers from a very free, liberal country to the US, which despite the hype of freedom is an overreactive puritanical entity with a sex negative mindset. A lot of innocuous sites make themselves "over 18" (tho easily circumvented by any kid who wants to). I immediately noticed the range of ages here and as an actual grampa who has spent some quality time with my youngest grandson from the age of 13 (he just turned 17) I know some of the insecurities of that age today, just as I can recall them from my own time half a century ago. I have been addressing some of the concerns of 14-year-old boys (Sorry "young men" but anyone under 30 is a boy to me) on these sites and I often wonder if someone would think an explicit discussion of even educational sexual matters with people that age is inappropriate. Of course it is not and I recall the dark ages that I grew up in when information was not readily available and misinformation was what was officially sanctioned. (masturbation was frowned upon to say the least). In parts of the Bible Belt, my own state of Florida included, this is still the case but fortunately the Internet has infiltrated these pockets of ignorance. So, I enjoy imparting my experience and acquired knowledge to young men, just like talking to my grandson. Maybe it brings up vicarious good feelings to revisit those naive times. For the record I like young men and have found an occasional 20-year-old (the age of my oldest grandson) who had a thing for old grampas and enjoyed my physical intimacy with them. Some think that is disgusting but if both parties enjoy each other who cares about a two-generational age difference? I only subscribe to the legal age requirement of 18 because I don't want to go to jail, but believe 16 should be the age of consent everywhere, not just those few enlightened places. So, I am not here to hit on some underage kid, but I do enjoy our conversations in this forum.
Yeah, any place where individuals of wide varieties of ages, gender, and race can come and discuss one subject in a mature, friendly manner is a great place. It brings people together, even if they are subjects like masturbation, which is often overlooked or criticized.
