whats up with the "packing"?

    I got another question that involves cigs. Why do people "pack" their cigarettes after they buy them? By packing I mean slapping the cigarette pack across their palm repeatedly, whats so special about this? Isn't it the same even if you don't "pack" it?

    The tobacco gets tighter, falls out less, etc...


    personally i find it annoying...

    It packs the tobacco down making the cigarettes less loose.

    I myself do not believe in packing my cigarettes though.

    i think the cig smokers want to be seen as cool as the people who pack dip
    packing dip actually makes sense

    I roll my own cigs and I roll them tight enough so that there is no need to pack.

    ive never had to pack them, i only see americans do it with their shitty 20packs.

    If i buy the cheap native smokes i sometimes have to rip a bit off because the tobacco gets stale.
