I'm tired of all the bullshit jingoism "my country is better than yours" fucking bullshit when we are all just brothers & sisters & NOT GOVERNMENTS.

I'm tired of apathy! I'm tired of the illusions of religion giving birth to all these lost betrayed-feeling atheists that had God in their hearts all along, NOT in some fucking church.

I'm tired of the word "terrorism" everywhere when our governments are tricking kids' hearts into holding guns under the illusion that their big hearts are doing something right!

I'm tired of money, not Love being the system!

I'm tired of seeing anorexic (& now fashionabley obese) women parading around stripped of all their hair & covered with 4lbs of makeup only to be exposed to MORE chemicals under social pressure!

I'm tired of male superiority! I'm tired of extremist feminists not listening to men either!

I'm tired of the sweatshops! I'm tired of ganster rap! I'm tired of music celebrating disgust & depression!

I'm tired of incidents like columbine & the MIT shooting as seen only through the eyes of the shot when both the shooter & the shot were the victims!!

I'm tired of the constitution (the one understanding) being thrown to the wayside while tyranny rises & torture becomes ethical!

I'm tired of people forgetting people! I'm tired of this lack of Love!

No matter what I want to see your side! I want to hear your stuggles! Even from those branded evil when we hold the powers of good & evil in EVERY man & so no man can be labelled under one or the other!

IS ANYONE ELSE JUST SO FED UP???

PLEASE PEOPLE JUST SEND LOVE EVERYWHERE BECAUSE IT IS ALL WE HAVE LEFT! I know your hearts are bigger than your minds! I know it!

You've about summed up my current stance. I would add:

I am tired of all the hysteria around global warming only leading to the lining of corporate pockets while the poor are being hit by higher prices for all necessities and no real solutions are being offered.

The most important thing a person your age can do is to be a responsible consumer. Purchase only what you need. Don't buy into the hype that anything you can buy will make you cool, it won't. And if you buy into all the marketing, then you place yourself in a position to be manipulated by corporate marketers, who don't care about your quality of life, they only care about selling product and their bottom line.

And, don't take this lightly. It's very important. When you reach voting age, then you should become politically knowledgeable and active. Learn to budget your money, and never go into debt for anything, which isn't life saving to you or your family. And most important have a little fun in your life don't sweat the small stuff. Live and love.

I do love sticking it to the man, eh?

But why?? Do you want to know why there is all this injustice & me & all the Buddhist monks don't cry about it any more?? (Freakin' hilarious really.)

All of the injustice, the poverty, the "unfairness", it's all supposed to be there. (Not to say that I don't know what side I am on, boycott! Boycott! Live the light!)

You see, we live in a very mysterious universe, one that you & I can only learn pieces of because the omniscience "ONE"-energy is the the only knower (not ruler, not patriarch in the sky, big bearded b.s. just the energy).

Without all this darkness, we couldn't have such bright light! The sun rises, & so it must fall. We are given the gift of life, only to die (or step off this plane back ot that ONE energy). This is the whole premise of the One-Love vibe that we all feel, we are utterly & absolutely connected, only separated by the illusions of our egos & the assumption that this reality is the only one to be known.

So, you must realize, that for us to recognize this injustice, "stumble" on this information by coincidence (which really isn't coincidence at all), we have been directed (& at the same time direct ourselves) to which side our hearts must fall.

Some of the most evil incidents in history were propelled by the idea of "right" (crusades, Nazi Germany, etc.), so you can't really disgrace them because even as evil & twisted as it may all seem, there are golden underlyings (reasoning by the heart) telling them that their actions are justified. & why? Because they were supposed to be.

Sure, makes no sense to me, why can't we live forever? Why can't the sun keep us warm eternally? Why do have male & female to exist for the cycle of life to continue??

    We need the polarity.

I don't want to make this too long because there are some ADD hipforums readers, haha, & I want them to read this too, but I am just telling you that you have to do what your heart says is right, regardless of the the others telling you right or wrong because it is part off this illustrious system we are all a part.

This is why I don't cry anymore. I just laugh, laugh, laugh like the Buddha. It is like crying everytime the sun goes down, it'll be back. It'll be warm.

Really, just don't lose faith when you read/ listen/watch all of these things going down. Don't get lost in fear, or the darkness will win & you won't be on the side you want to be on. Fear isn't real, Love is, fear is just the tool to trick you away from owning your Divine human experience.

Just don't be scared. I love all you guys.
    Big Smiles,
    Natalie

Maybe that is more of a spirituality-forum type deal, but I don't just want to put out negativity & get you all down. It's both.

How is what I said patronizing? It's the advice I give myself and friends, except we are of voting age. We can donate to candidates we can hold town meetings and discuss issues based on life experience, we can vote.

    Youth ask:

I replied in what I feel is the most responsible way to make a difference. Another way of making yourself heard is through your personal consumption. By not buying anything but what is necessary to sustain oneself, we could do a lot to respect and green the world. Instead of depleting resources like water in India so that the western world can have designer bottled water like Dansani.

I'll have to remember that the next time a homeless person asks me for money.
"I'd give you money... but I'm privileged and you're poor, and we need that polarity!" </sarcasm>

And I agree with NoNombre. Gardener is the same asshole who accused me of being stupid and only worrying about my wardrobe when I go to protests, because obviously a female teenager can't actually care, or know anything about the issues:

There's TONS of stuff you can do! [IMG] Here are some ideas:
--If there's an SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) chapter near you, then join it! (I <3 SDS.) (http://www.newsds.org/wiki/index.php?title=List_of_SDS_chapters)
--If there's not an SDS chapter near you, then you could start one up, OR you could start up an anti-war group at your school! I know some high school students who've done that... they've had events at their schools like "Chalking for Peace."
--You could also teach your fellow students about how, under the "No Child Left Behind" Act, your school is required to give your information to the military. Then, you can teach everyone how to "opt out" of that.
--You can help out with Food Not Bombs. They're everywhere. You can find a local chapter here: http://www.foodnotbombs.net/contacts.html

Never mind. I did the research. For all you ready to label me as the next big terrorist threat to your generation read the entire thread.

    http://hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264532&page=1&pp=10

I stand behind what I said in that thread. Reasonable people don't attend a protest and prepare to go to jail like it's a social event. You protest because you have investigated the issues and disagree with the policy.

It seems your biggest disappointment was you weren't arrested, not that your protest wasn't heard or responded to.

At the risk of completely derailing this thread...

If I may be allowed the egotism of quoting myself:
Where did I say that I was doing it as a "social event"? Reasonable people THINK before they do anything drastic like... oh, I don't know... getting arrested. So yes, I did plan ahead. I don't like getting myself into situations that I don't know anything about. Besides that, as a person raised in a rather conservative, middle-class family, participating in civil disobedience was a big step for me in terms of my political development. So yes, I was excited about it.

I think I made it clear that I felt the protest was a success -- as I said, it was "empowering," and prepared me for later actions. And when I said "Maybe next time, lol." in regards to (not) getting arrested, I think that made it clear that I was amused, rather than disappointed, about the outcome.

Once again, let me quote myself: "Please take your ageism and sexism elsewhere."

And as for the original post...

Purchase only what you need. Don't buy into the hype that anything you can buy will make you cool, it won't.
You know us teenangers and girls, always buying shit we don't need. Sure, it's wasteful, but hey! at least I'm popular!

And, don't take this lightly. It's very important. When you reach voting age, then you should become politically knowledgeable and active.
She isn't already knowledgable? No, of course not, because, once again, female teenagers can't know or care about politics. Someone who is asking how to get involved obviously has some basic understanding of the issues; otherwise, they wouldn't see a need to do anything. Way to make assumptions based on her age and gender.
And it's not possible to learn about, or get involved in, political issues before the age of eighteen? Yeaaaaah, okay.

And most important have a little fun in your life don't sweat the small stuff.
"Don't worry your pretty little head over it!"

And yes, I absolutely agree that bringing personal issues into this discussion isn't entirely appropriate. However, I am merely stating my opinion, which is entirely relelvant to several comments that were made speculating whether your comment was patronizing.
