I think the poster meant the "age" part...

How does one murder someone and only get two years..? People who steal gum get more time than that...

I just think telling on her will not do anything but make it worse than it is, she will probably run away with him, I would bet money on it...

by doing it in a nation recently torn apart by war, civil unrest and ethnic feuding.

which is why telling on her isn't going to do anything good. the situation is dodgy as fuck, but this young girl is not going to let anyone convince her that the man she loves is bad for her, she's going to have to realize that on her own.

Yeah, but you pad your stats by sitting alone in your room and reciting things you know are right for hours at a time. "Trees are pretty....two plus two is four...I have two feet..." We know about your secret life, Lode.

    Bingo!

My friend in HS who was 17 was fooling around with someone who was in their late twenties.. Her sister found out and told their parents, well she decided "no one understood them or him and their love" and she ran away with him out of state. Needless to say the police got involved and it just turned out very ugly... Telling always turns most situations like these pretty ugly, not always but mostly (this is just my opinion and what I have seen) You can only voice your opinion to her and let her find out and she will...

17 year-olds are more than old enough to consent to sex.

Sounds more like causing a death by a car accident, not murder.

Well, I don't think the age difference is so much of an issue, seeing as I'm more attracted to older guys, it would be hipocritical for me to condemn her for that.

It really depends on how she acts; if she's mature enough to handle an older man, then being 17, I would say that she is also old enough to choose her sexual partners. Just so long as the guy doesn't set off an creepy vibes, then I would find nothing wrong with it.

The only reason to condemn their relationship in my opinion, is the murder. Although, you would really have to check out the circumstances of the murder, because there are alot of cases where people are just in the wrong place in the wrong time.

My advice would be to have a proper conversation with your cousin's boyfriend, and find out about him. For all you know, he could be like poor Carla Bruni ;)

It would be annoying to be in your 30's dating a teen. Man, why would you do that to yourself?

I would be afraid of anyone who's been charged with murder. Murder is wrong. Age difference could pass, but murder???!! I think you'd do her good to tell her mum...

I fully agree to this, and most 17 year olds do. I think the american age of consent at 18 is mad - that would make around 99% of girls sexually abused; I don't know ONE girl who stayed a virgin that long.

    How I feel.

I guess manipulation is a goal in-itself. Teens are supposed to be maleable.

Yeah. The Spanish age of 13 is much better. This doesn't mean all 13 year-olds will rush out and have sex, it means they can have sexual relationships openly so be better protected from abuse, STIs, unwanted pregnancy etc.
