anyone heading down I-10 for the 420 gathering? me and tim diddley are hitching down the I-10 then up 101 if anyone is going our direction a ride would be greatly appreciated. we have no money but were always down to help out in any way.
After the AZ 420 a couple years ago I hitched I-10 to Texas. Well... I tried. I ran out of water the first day and it wasn't pretty. I can tell you of my 5 days in hell if you want, but the thought of hitching I-10 again sends chills down my spine.
I hear you King. The same thing happened to me but it was only 3 days with no water and i found shelter in an abandoned abobe house on the side of I 10 East of El Paso. Nope I 10 is not a friendly highway to hitch. This was in the late 80's too. Good luck guys.
love u guys. trying 2 hitch there from atlanta. please send positive energy. i hope if i get there not quite by 420 fam will still b there. love u and miss u. ----merlin
how do you run out of water when hitching I 10 unless you allowed yourself to be dropped off at a on ramp with no services or you simply did not carry a big enough water container? but yeah I 10 through arizona new mexico and texas was not hitcher friendly back in the early 80's .. i spent 5 days on a on ramp in arizona.. but i didnt run outta water,, hell i hitched from vegas through bull head city in july and never ran outta water.. come to think of it in 7 years gallivanting this great country on foot,, i cant ever recall running out of water. food,,YES,,water,,no.
Hell, Here in Knoxville, I don't know jack about a Tenn gathering. Where's that? We're going to a festie in VA.

just got this off of tribe.net. apparently directions to holding camp posted on april 6th: "GO TO Upper Lake You should see a sign for M1/301 TAKE that ROAD For about some number of miles that will take you about 10-30 minutes since it is a windy assed mountain. When you see Bear Creek/Deer Valley road take a right....Take first turn off on left (Seth thinks---for all we know about Seth it could be the first open area on the right)....park there. This is a holding camp, we have talked to the forest people and they seem happy with our existence. There is water right down the road at Deer Valley Camp Ground (we really think so) so fill up (then tell us if there is water....or we will look again) ---OK so bring water. And food and a shovel and ho hos because Bob had a bad day yesterday. Anyways when you get to the hiway grocery store in the town of Upper Lake you turn left if you are heading east and right if you are heading west....this should be Elk Mountain Road.... Follow this it becomes 301 eventually M1. Follow this twisty awesome road for a while....we are heading further in to Bear Creek....you will hit a brown forest sign that gives directions to 3 places (at that sign was going to be holding camp)...keep going. We are trying to head towards Bear Creek which is a right on M10. Not sure how far down the M10 it is, but Joe told us its the place to be!" merlin loves u all!!
