I probably sound incredibly ignorant, but I have only smoked pot a few times, and even then it was prepared by other people. I bought some Salvia 15x, so I know that I need very little of it. I am wondering if I am supposed to just use that tiny bit in a pipe, or should I mix it with something like tobacco? Also, any suggestions on what kind of pipe to use? I'm planning on ordering one, but seeing as I'm a newbie to this, I'd appreciate some advice. I have done my research on Salvia, so I know what I'm getting into, its just these small technical details that I can't seem to figure out/find information on.

You need to smoke it in a pipe, and use a torch lighter. The hotter the flame, the better. I wouldnt mix it with anything either. Any kind of pipe will work, just use a screen, and the #1 key is to hold it in for 30 sec. and make sure you are sitting down. Its also advisable to have a sitter with you.

lol...another stupid question, but what is a screen? I googled it and it made it sound like screens are already built into pipes, is there an extra thing I need to get? I understand its to make sure you don't breathe the actual powder in...which since I have extract, its very fine powder. Thanks for your help. I will definitely have a sitter, and I know about having the right setting and what not.

You can smoke it out of a pipe but it would probably be better to find a friend with a bong and smoke it out of that or some type of water pipe. If all else fails the pipe will do but it ain't worthy. To answer your question tho, yeah the screen is just a little metal piece in the pipe that keeps ash from going into your mouth. Depending on what type of pipe you have, you might be able to find a screen to fit your pipe at a local headshop. Good luck and I hope that helped.

Agreed. The bong is a lot better for smoking Salvia Divinorum extracts. I have tried from pipes before, but it didn't give me the effects I so desired. I would go with the bong, torch lighter and pipe screen/glass filter. The screen/filter is essential, or the extract will just bubble into the water.... Pipe screens can also be found at many convenience stores. Have a good journey my friend.

If all else fails, use a soda can but that might burn your throat (especially with a torch lighter). Just keep in mind Salvia needs to burn at high temperatures to be effective. I use it with a bong (with ice in the water OR very cold water) than a pipe that will burn your throat. They key is to torch the leaf quickly and all at once.

I agree with a bong being the best way to smoke salvia. The smoke can be really harsh and you want to get as much as you can in each hit.

A word of warning! If you are so new to this such of thing that you don't know what a screen for the pipe is used for.....be very careful with Sally D.

She can kick your ass and leave you wondering what the hell hit you!!!

    Happy traveling!
