I've been here for a while, but I was wondering if walking barefoot on hard surfaces would cause plantar fasciitis. It says on mayoclinic.com:

Anybody sure if this is right?

I got plantar fascitis for a few weeks bad a couple of years ago when I had a job I had to wear shoes for. Now I am barefoot at my job, I haven't had problems since. :)

Make sure to go easy on it and get it rest if it hurts. See a doctor if you can.

Most of my barefooting is on the pavement, at least ten miles a week, often more, and my feet are absolutely happy with that. The secret is "fox walking", that is to say, ball-heel, rather than heel-toe, this eliminates ground "strike", which seems to be the main cause of foot-ankle-knee problems.

That's what I thought - it's a heel problem, so I figured it's from cow-walkers that go heel-toe when barefoot on pavement. Thanks for the testimony, Ryvr.
