Mathematicians like to define things, so its not surprising that one of the unresolved problems in math is "What is mathematics?"
(Given a set of questions, what sub-set of those questions are "math" questions?)

"Mathematics is what mathematicians do." is an old formulation of the answer.

I would propose an additional necessary, but not sufficient, condition that "Mathematics deals with the rules that god can not break."

Creation is a realm of duality. Anytime you have duality, you also have division and all the mathmatical offramps that come from division. Creation started with division.

The formless God, as represented by zero, has no division. Math is useless at that level.

So I would say math is the language of creation.

I personally am a mathmatical idiot. But like a blind person, I have other abilities that compensate for my disability.

Math starts with Axioms which are statements assumed to be true as most people would agree that they are self-evident. Axioms are used to created theorems which are true statements if the axioms are true. From there, Mathematics explodes into something which the majority of people hate. Everything has it's assumptions.
