Anyone have any experience applying henna to dreadlocks? Is there a better or alternate way of applying it to maximize the henna's exposure to the hair?

I applied henna to my dreadies last summer, and it worked great. You have to be careful though. I just mixed it up and layered my hair with it, I did not rub it in, because it is very gunky. Then I put a plastic bag on my head and left it on for a couple hours. It worked amazingly... :) and stayed in a long time, I guess cause dreadies wash their hair a little less than most. If I ever do it again I think I would leave it in over night, to get some more colour happening... but I probably wont. My only concern was the goop drying, so thats why i put the bag on... but then you dont want it to stay moist for to long either.

    Good luck.

I think it was a grand experience, since I took the plung into dying my hair a few years ago. Ideally I wish i never, ever touched any of it... but it will grow out someday.
