I have been bombarded by compliments before and it took me by surprise
but smelly socks has a point that I think you should consider, without taking it too personally or getting defensive just think for a moment about how appearance oriented this world is... though I am sure most won't admit it and there must be some who look beyond the skin, It is still something very real for a lot of people... birth defects.. serious weight problems...disfiguring accidents.. what I am trying to say is that although you feel taken a back by all the compliments try and be grateful too... there are plenty who only wish someone would extend the same nice words to them
