I live in Northern Cali and I was wondering if anyone could tell me when is a good time(Month Specifically) to move clones outdoors so that they dont start flowering right away??? And if they do regenerate will it take past October to finish??? Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
Not familiar with NorCal but there has to be a Farmer's Almanac for your area somewhere or a web site which will tell you when the chance of frost is over. In Mich its mid May and if you do not want them into flowering then check on how long the days are 14+ hours or so of light will keep most out of flowering. If you are a legal med grower you can always throw up a light to extend the day. The supplemental light is not for growth but only to keep it out of flowering. Hopefully a Cali guy will be able to give more specifics for ya. Good Luck and big harvests! Bill
Hey Neighbor, What you're asking depends on whether you live on the coast or up in the sunbelt. If you live on the coast good luck with an outdoor grow, The sun doesn't shine much in the summer. If you're 5-10 miles up the hill, you may set them out just about any time now. If you're in the high country, above Willits, wait till the night temps get above 40F, the rest of the county is the same as sunbelt;>)
Thank you guys sooo much for answering me!!! I am about three miles from the ocean,I guess you could say in the sunbelt cause I am above the fog and normally have sun all day.I am growing medicinally and I was told that Grand Daddy Purp Is a good strain for this area,Last year I got a decent yield from some purple Kush but it was immature(Although VERY STONY) because of the early rain. I was hoping if the GDP's finished in late September I could enjoy some ripe herb!!! Your help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
if yer above the fog yer lucky, my tree is about 1/2 mile from ocean. Purp and kush are about the same thing both indica, why would you need to harvest in Sept. you could leave out till almost Thanksgiving, here.
Thanks again Natural hi,just a couple more questions? My holes are already dug to approximately 4feet across by 3 feet deep,my buddy tells me I dont have to be that deep and should be larger in diamater because clones do not have a tap root. I am planning on ammending the soil by mixing in Foxfarm Happy Frog soil conditioner 70/30 with the native soil with bone meal in the bottom of the hole, so if I dug the hole too deep I am thinking the roots would never reach the bone meal???Thank U 4 any help U can give me,I have read Jorge Cervantes' grow bible but didnt see anything about that in there.
I'm not sure I agree with yer buddy, afterall indicas get to be 9'+/- tall at maturity, so I'm wondering if it's deep enough. rangerdanger has a good outdoor grow thread here somewhere but I couldn't find it, will search again later.
