What did you all think of it? i think it could have been better, loved helena, entertaining and addictive. its like, it was not the best of films, but i loved it anyway. blessings xxx xx x
I actually thought "Sweeny Todd" was really well done. I thought the casting was absolutely perfect, and the songs weren't as corny as they could've been. There were probably parts that I'd have changed, but all in all, very good.
it has really grown on me, i adore it now, even tho i know it could have been better ect. loved helena, loved johnny, i even liked the songs, and i hate musicals. and jolie, my dad was bored watching it too, nearly fell asleep blessings xxx xx x
tim burton is a brilliant man, not many people can create films like sleepy hollow, edward scissorhands and yes, sweeney todd too. and yes, helena and johnny are very easy on the eyes blessings xxx xx x
I really liked it. It was great. Helena's and Johnny's singing was sufficient for the parts. I liked Depp's singing in particular. He deserves the Oscar nod he got. I don't think he'll win though but he'll most likely be nodded in the future for another role anyways so he could get it then. However, he played the part very well. Helena was good too. Burton's direction was great and I was bummed but not surprised to see he didn't get a nod for Best Director. The sets, costume, makeup, and score...all of the technicals aspects of the film were the best I think.
Visually stunning, as most of Burton's films are... I love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and I think both of them were lovely as always. I found it quite humorous actually-I don't think many people really seemed to understand the dark humor in it-too focused on the spewing blood I guess Some of the songs were pretty good as well, and I love to watch Johnny sing...he has such an interesting mouth, and a great snarl
i agree with you! on everything the dark humour was great, and yes, burton makes his films look so artistic. and johnny's snarl, very cool. blessings xxx xx x
... and I am NOT a fan of the Depp/Burton thing (with exception to Edward Scissorhands) and I thought it was fantastic. I felt it did justice to Sondheims vision, and hell HE loved it.
I won't watch it.. gorey things make me vomit.. I really wish I could though cause I love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp I'm just really anal and I kinda piss myself off.
