After having a few drops of blood taken for blood tests usually I have a blue there for a few days...
I know my blood type already... but I'm going for blood tests to see if everything is ok from the point of view of health, to find out if I'm missing a certain vitamin or mineral. It's good to know your blood type in case of an accident *knocks on wood*
in most *life threatening* accidents, i've already told my parents to inform the doctors to let me die *edited*
What??! The point is to save lives, you dolt! You're a terrible person! What if I needed your blood? Would you at least donate to me?
Type O blood is extremly essential. "Children being treated for cancer, premature infants and children having heart surgery need blood and platelets from donors of all types, especially type O." http://www.bloodcenters.org/aboutblood/bloodfacts.htm "There is always a need for Type O donors because their blood may be transfused to a person of any blood type in an emergency" http://chapters.redcross.org/br/northernohio/INFO/bloodtype.html
Persons with O Positive Type Blood can receive the following types of blood: O Positive O Negative O Positive type blood can be safely given to persons with blood types: O Positive A Positive B Positive AB Positive Giving blood shouldn't be pushed but it would be nice if more people saw it as helping and not just as somebody looking for a free handout... I didn't give for a long time because I smoked and had tattoos. My fiance actually took me in my first time so we could do something together and I found out that tattoos were fine so long as they were given at a certified tattoo shop and nobody even asked anything about whether or not I smoked. Apparently there is an antibody or something that women who have been pregnant posses in their blood so I can't give plasma but platelets are used for cancer patients and I can give those... I hope that any good karma I might be subject to goes straight to my Dad. side note* he goes in for his next chemo treatment on the 14th and so far he's done well with his first one
good luck with your dad! I tried to give blood a while ago but they said my blood was too thin or something. I was vegan back then so that's probably why since I also didn't care enough to take care of myself. I could probably do it sometime in the near future since I'm like 50% healthier now
I'm still not donating. I get stuck with needles enough. I'm tired of walking around with track marks from doctors not knowing what's wrong with me. They get enough blood from everyone else wanting a free cookie.
I have O+. Apparently I'm a god to the red cross. They call me or my dad like 3 times a week, and I dislike having to lie to them.
jimminey crickets! giving blood is such a good deed, i dont know why everyone is saying theres no point and i dont ever want to do it. It doesnt take long and it saves other peoples lives!
word. i get enough blood drained. then i feel liek shit till i recover from that. i rather plant a tree or something.
I think I'm O+ too. But I'm not sure, they just put O+ on my Brazilian ID because they assume all Brazilians of african descent are O+.
I do not wish to save some random person's life. It will not make me feel better about myself, and I would be contributing to overpopulation. I honestly just don't want to donate blood, I don't see the point, and I don't see why I should do it. Some people do wish to donate blood, good for them. I'm sure that you could get some good hippie's blood if you ever needed any. My plan for life is to avoid blood loss.
Overpopulation, schmoverpopulation. That's the kind of idea that sounds like it would be better (letting a bunch of people die) when you talk about it in the objective, but subjectively (and on the individual level, all of life is subjective), it just doesn't hold up. But it's ok, if you gave blood, the recipient would just end up drunk anyway.
i gave blood yesterday, double red blood cells, right before my track meet. i thought i was going to pass out but nope i didnt, amazed i was
