Are you satisfied with how the world is changing, how people act and treat one another, how everyone has seemed to become more selfish rather than generous? I'm not, in fact I'm saddened by all of it. I see us destroying Earth because, I hate to say it, there are a number of people out there that really don't care about Earth and the fact that we're destroying it. A lot of people seem to only think about themselves and what will benefit them, working to just get through to the next day. What happened to people caring about strangers? What happened to being able to go out for a walk at night underneath the stars when all you can hear is the wind blowing amongst the trees? I understand that things change and people adapt to that change but is the change that occurred good? People are getting killed over shoes, elderly are getting abused and robbed, people are getting their identities taken away from them. How can any of this be good? And one change that I think most can agree on is that what is going on with Global Warming is no joke. We've already witnessed it this year. I'm from the Midwest, Chicagoland area, and usually between Jan. and March it's freezing cold or snowing ridiculously. This year, there have already been reports of tornados in the Midwest and it's not even the season for it. A little bizarre don't you think. Obviously, we are doing a lot of damage and more people need to understand that and take action before it's too late. This is just my opinion. I'm not trying to start an argument, I just need to get this out and get the point of views of others. Think about it, if enough people want a change, one that will benefit both people and Earth, isn't it worth fighting for? To me it is because I have my future to look forward to and I want my kids to be able to experience the beauty of nature and the outdoors, not parking lots and shopping malls. Again, any opinions about the situation would be awesome!
There are many bad things happening in the word when you look at it, but it's important not to forget there good things too! I find looking at the positive things gives me more motivation to do good and do my part in chnaging things!
i am not satisfied! today i was driving and an old woman's car was broken down in the middle of the road and i stopped to help her while others just drove on and looked at her and almost hit her car no one helped and it made me so sad yesterday i found a cat with a fucking HUGE scab on its neck as if some other animal had bitten it and let it go i called the vets to tell them i was bringing in the cat and they said i would have to pay for all its expenses and i was okay with that as the cat was dying and it needed medical attention then they said that the cops however would become involved because it was not my cat and i could face criminal charges if i were to bring the cat in needless to say i took the cat in i couldnt leave it to die and now i wait to see if i am called to court for this can a judge really persecute someone for caring about other creatures? how can this be that no one cares for one another? how can it be that an old coke addict is running our country how can it be that mothers never get to see their children again because they went away to fullfill their "patriotic duty"? i am happy that i am alive and i think life is a beautiful thing i just think that it is becoming an unsacred thing in today's society i dont now maybe these are all just my stoner ramblings but if we continue on this way what will become of us and what will become of our mother earth?
- racism is still around me. - people laugh when i say i recycle. stop raping mother earth. - people get mad at/don't like me for the absolute -dumbest- reasons. - we're in a war we have no right to be in. - people avoid peace like the plague, yet wonder why the hell we're in a war, we're dying, and other countries hate us. - America seems to think they rule the universe. Bullshit. ...in a lot of ways, i'm not satisfied with society in general. but the little things let me keep my sanity lmao.
hey all. Look, i know it's rough out there but it's very important to stay positive and keep things in perspective. (which is'nt always easy for me, being the synical bastard that i am.) there are things that frustrate and worry me in the world (arcane cannabis laws for example) but alot of people are also waking up and opening thier minds to things they never would have considered a few years ago. we live in an amazing age where we are slowly learning that very little of what we have been taught about history, science, time/space theory is true. and that's hard to face up to. naturaly we will experience some growing pains as we continue to break out the old status quo that we have been indoctorinated into thoughout history. Energy and focus is such a powerful force. Simply put, the universe gives you more of what you focus your energy on. So recognize the ill's of society but keep your focus on the positve changes that are happening all around us. if you can't find enough then make some yourself. the most important thing is to temper all of your actions and thoughts (to friend or stranger) with love. "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make" -John Lennon-
I can understand that we all need to stay postive and what not, but it is upsetting to see so many people not care. I too get laughed at for recycling, and people don't like me for reasons I do not know. But why? Because I care about Earth and hate to see it get destroyed by selfish individuals who seem to only care about how to improve their own lives. It's sad that people would rather spend their time creating a "Smart House" that does everything for you...from flicking the light switch to flushing the toilet for you and even starting your oven for you if you are about to be home...rather than finding alternative ways of living, using less of the natural resources we have available and finding alternative solutions. I know that we are starting to do these things but more needs to be done about it and more people need to be aware of global warming and what's going on. I know a lot of people who read this probably think that I'm writing this in the wrong section of the forums but I'm aware of this. I've already discussed this in other areas and I wanted to get the point of view of others. ~Rather than fighting for an unjust war, we should band together and fight against global warming. Save the planet, save our future.
Im with ya. Im entering a global warming, button design contest at my high school. War is wrong, Peace Love Happiness.
The other day, I was in the car with my mum and her bf, and a tram stop was right next to us. The traffic was horrible, so all the cars and trams were standing still, and the trams were really packed. There were 2 boys in the tram, standing right next to the door, and they were about my age, maybe younger, and they were showing their middle finger at this random guy (probably Indian) who was just standing there, trying not to pay attention to them. Suddenly, one of the boys presses the button, and opens the door, SPITS on the guy (for no reason) and closes the door again. It was just so horrible. And the guy didn't do anything. He didn't say anything....just no reaction. My mums bf started yelling at the boys in the tram, but the tram just drove off, and...that was pretty much it. No I'm not satisfied. There's so much hate, and war, it's disgusting.
Thanks @audrak for a post such as that its good to know that other people care about saving the earth too... But i think recently i did give into capitalism Just felt it was easier than getting worked about it...especially when people around me didn't seem to care about saving the earth Not realizing how bad i was getting. Then one day recently i was starring at the sky late night...(something i always used to do when i was younger)...then i noticed that i haven’t seen stars in ages. I somehow got my faith back and thought (partly also because it was snowing in April, which is kinda odd in the UK)..i should not turn away from what i strongly once believed in....deep down i even realized i was feeling more guilty avoiding taking the right steps to do what i can live sustainable.
The other day me and a buddy were pulling out of the mall and saw a man holding a sign. His sign read "stranded- Hungry- anything helps". The traffic was heavy so we had a few minutes before we could get up to where the guy was. My buddy fished $20 out of his wallet and smiled at me. I fished out my stash (about 2 grams of purple indica in an Altoids tin), and put his 20 in the tin with two papers. When we finally reached the guy, I casually tossed the tin to him, smiled and told him to enjoy. The look on his face as we pulled away will stay with me forever. It's not that nobody cares, it's just that uncaring, hateful actions are so much louder than the silent, unpublicised acts of love that occur all around us every day. It's ok to be concerned about the earth, and we should all do what we can to keep our lives in balance with her needs. But to send the energy of worry and hate out into the universe only brings it back to you again, compounding the original problem. Do not lament the Earth. The Earth will heal itelf when we have healed ourselves. I honor the Earth, I repect the Earth, try to live in harmony with the Earth, but I don't worry for Her. I recognise her as a living entity with natural life cycles just like every other living being. I guess the thing I'm most disatisfied about is that there's still so much injustice in the world.
I do see a lot of nice people. I remember this guy was coming in the library while I was leaving and I was far from the door and he tried to hold while still walking and he let go and apologized! That was rather nice. As for the world changing, I despise people on this Earth. They do anything possible for profit. Privatizing land? That is pathetic. Sooner or later all of this world is going to be privatized and you won't be able to walk off your property without being fined for trespassing. That is if we make it past global warming...
no I am not satisfied THE ONLY WAY IS WITH THE POWER OF THE MIND THINK POSITIVE AND WE CAN MAKE CHANGES BUT IF WE DON'T BELIEVE THEN THERE IS NO HOPE THE INTERNET IS A WICKED INSTRUMENT IF WE ALL HAD THE SAME THOUGHT AT THE SAME WE COULD CHANGE THINGS THINGS
