Strange and horrifying...before I fall asleep. Happens A LOT

    Right on, Shatarag. The thing for me is that I have seen things that I realized were not weird. I'm not UFO-obsessed or anything like some people are. I was jogging at about 5 one morning and saw a rocket with multi-colored contrails, like glowing in the dark pre-dawn sky. This was in the paper later as a lot of people saw it, and it was from something at the nearby base.

    On the other hand I have had a few experiences that were not so easily explainable. Could be that there are weird things that we don't know about that are from our own government. But why is it so ludicrous that there are things from elsewhere, too? Why is it so impossible that they would visit here? Because we are told not to think that? Not that I am all invested in it one way or the other. I just think that we get too carried away with dismissing anything unconventional.

    i have that happen to me also.... its really scary and its like i have really big twitches and sometimes i fall on the ground or something and i sometimes try to keep my self ballanced but in summer of 06' i fainted in my house and it's been happening evr scine that happened. so i think that theyre connected somehow. im not sure. i thought of a brain tumor but that wouldnt cause voices in my head so im not really sure what it is....

    I used to get exact same dreams 10 years ago a year after trying to do lucid dreaming. I would panic and try move or wake up but couldn't, and sometimes thing i am not breathing and dying. However if you accept your fate and realize that you are safe and conscious while dreaming, you can then begin to explore a whole new facet to your consciousness.

    Read the 1st three Carlos Castaneda books as it talks about this a bit.

    yea man i know exactly what you are felign it hapends to me everytime i try to go to sleep and it is prolly the scariest thing i have experienced.

    i believe it is called sleep paralysis. i dont knwo very much about it but i did go to my doctor and i told him the symptoms and he pretty much looked at me like i was crazy . But he did recoment getting this vitamin called Melatonin
    you take 1 pill about 30 minutes before you go to sleep. It helped me out for about a week and then it started happending again . so i tried some other things to make it stop and what seemed to work for me is to eat somethign before you go to sleep like some chips or a sandwich or something . another thing to do is if you smoke weed so smoek a little before you go to bed . usually when i do that it doesnt now happen

    but other then tht i dont know what to tell you.

    but man i know what you go through and it sucks it happends to me eveytime i try and go to bed.

    It is very scary at first but i spent over a year trying to reach that state. If you read up about lucid dreaming you will realize that this is a good thing as it is the 1st stage to begining to lucid dream. Just takes practise to not panic and try move/wake up and realize that you are in deep sleep but concious, and dont be freeeaked by the feeling of a presence.

    It is a trance state, I would say you are naturally gifted...now learn to harness that.

    yea, I used to have sleep paralysis every once in awhile.... it was caused by my anxiety. I never started lucid dreaming, but I never gave it a chance because i would flip out when I realized that I couldn't move my body. Now that my anxiety is gone, I have no more sleep-paralysis. yey!

    Light and sound trigger it. Try sleeping in a pitch black (even LED's around the room and digital clocks and trigger it) room without much or any sound.

    to all people having problems with this try doing this. I went to the doctor and this is what he told me to do

    go to a drugstore and buy this vitamin . It is called Maletonin and all you do is take two 3mg pills about 45 minutes before bed and walla.

    hope i helped . ever since i started taking them i get a good night sleep

    Melatonin. It's a hormone that weakly regulates sleep. Responsible for light allowing you to wake easier, and dark allowing you to sleep easier.

    But yeah, it would probably help. Too poor though.

    This is actually really, really common. It's never happened to me (thank god because it sounds creepy) but there's nothing wrong with you. Hallucinations and stuff are common for people who are in the stages between sleeping and waking.

    I only get it when I'm high. Sometimes I'll wake up when I'm sober and be paralyzed, but nothing else is abnormal, besides me feeling VERY tired and groggy. So I usually just go back to sleep. When I smoke before I go to bed, I'll sometimes wake up (because I have to piss or something) and I'll be tripping complete balls. Most of what you've people said. I notice that if I smoke before sleep I do trip. The closer I get to sleep the more I trip. Its all open eye visuals in the dark, but nothing is really that distorted. If I wake up and I'm still half awake and high I'll be tripping hard. Full distortions.

    I only owe it to the fact that I smoke LOTS of weed when I'm awake, and I try to trip off it. Then it all seems to hit right when I'm going to sleep.

    Because of this I cannot sleep on shrooms at all. I don't want to try acid, because what happens if I want to sleep but I'm tripping too hard?
