Would you rather live in the ascendancy of a civilization, or during its decline?

 

id say during its decline...

because of the possibilities of looting and free land!!!

 

well if we lived in the ascendancy of a civilization wede have nothing to look forward too

and were in its rapid decline right now. so im happy

ummm im gonna say during the decline also....just seems more exciting and the possibilty of trying to pick things up again.

decline...theres a bittersweet vibe to decay

 

this would depend entirely on whether you define civilization as i do as the abscence of the tyranny of the domminance of aggressiveness

or as the romans who invented the word as a way of life centered arround, controlled by and catering to, cities.

simultainious ascent of the former and decline of the latter would be the best of both worlds

(by which i don't mean chronological but the above sequence)

its much easier to slide downhill than to climb.

 

i would also call it an ascent TOWARD civilization
as by my deffinician this is a thing that hasn't happend yet

(though i absolutely believe it can and will)

b: we will sooner or later have to in order to survive
c: so far our species has survived)
