This has got to end. The Canadian government is being too pussy to stop the annual inhumane slaughter of baby seals that began today.
It's okay. The government passed a law, and now the seals have to have their blood drawn and are dead before they are permitted to be skinned.
It is not any different than slaughterhouses. At least the seals get to live in nature, unlike most meat you eat. IF seals were endangered, there should definately be a boycott, but it's not the case.
The seals are being clubbed to death in an inhumane manner, not to mention many of them are only a few days old.
That's right my friend. For 3 reasons: 1. Inhumane only applies to humans. 2. Seal hunters are trained to aim for the head, causing instant death. 3. Seals meat is actually eatable and tasty, unlike say monkey meat.
The problem has traditionally been that the clubbings have often not resulted in instand death, with some seals suffering extreme injuries making their deaths a little longer than instant. Thats the ones the hunters managed to keep track of. Others escape through the ice with a broken skull. This year measures have been taken to force hunters to sever the arteries under the fins in order to bleed the seals out quickly to ensure the seals that only appear dead will die quicker than they would have if left with the massive and brute trauma of an inaccurate clubber.
How about we boycott seal products... not Canadian seafood. Or boycott all marine mammal products but... why all Canadian seafood?
