I think you could be right. Just look at FedUpAmerican's post and you didn't even accuse him of being afraid of responsibility to God. So yes, I think it could be a tad irritating to them.
i would agree also...and i think that also goes with the stereotyping and slotting that happens, it's annoying
To add to this: it also seems odd that people naturally assume that people who believe in something else are either coerced against their will (aka brainwashed) or are somehow inferior thinkers. I think it would be pretty brash to write off people like St Thomas Aquainas' ideas about ethics simply because he was a monk.
That's where John Lennon's "Bagism" came in, it's all listening to what they say not who it's said by.
I think it’s amusing that you don’t see the hypocrisy in your statement. Earlier when relaxxx said about me that; “You defend the bible because you are emotionally attached to it, as if it was something more than what it is. You have faith (or ignorance) that it is the somehow divine.” You didn’t feel outraged enough to comment but when def zeppelin intimated that maybe the reason why a person is an atheist is because he has a hidden fear of the responsibility that God wants him to uphold, the flip side of what relaxxx said to me, suddenly it’s an idiotic statement and the stupidest thing you’ve seen anyone post. Frankly, I’m surprised, because although you do flame a bit, most of your comments are better thought out.
