    Don't grow up-
    No matter what.
Age is all in your head.
It will grow you to death.
    Erase all the clocks.
I never want to hear tick-tock again.
    Avoid a hearse
    By burning the calendars,
And their bedside day by day friends.
Soon no one will know what month it is,
    Or what year,
    Or what age.
Soon no one will have a birthday,
And they will like it that way.
    Simplicity is a safe game,
But when you add all work and no play,
You start to wish 11:11 would just go away.
    And whose to say
We orbit the sun in 365 days and nights.
Have you ever been to the sun,
And waited for the Earth to rise?
    When I open my eyes,
    I want them to close.
    Getting out of bed
Is the hardest part of living.
    But with clocks being dead,
You never have to be on time,
And I like it that way.
    So burn the calendars.
    Unplug the alarms.
    Smash the watches.
In that second before I fall asleep,
    I know everything.

I really like it! The whole of the developed world is obsessed with time- why can't we just live? Out of interest, what made you think of the idea?

    Is it in you now
To watch the things you gave your life to broken
Then stoop to build them up
    With worn out tools
    Yea.

aaahhh, very powerful line to end up this poem. this poem really hits home for me, and i'm totally on board with this idea of the uselessness of measuring time. overall, wonderful poem!

i know what you mean. every day is the same fucking day whether or not "they" want to believe it. haha. waking up and getting out of bed is really hard for me to do as well. I wish I could sleep for forever and just live in my dreaming life.
