I smoked so far only extracts. How is smoking leafs? Is the effect longer? How much do you have to smoke to achieve an effect? Is there any practical method to achieve a longer effect?
2-4 hits, each held for 20-30 seconds if you can. The effects take a little longer to come on, and last a little longer than extracts
I thought that there wasn't enough of the active chemical or whatever it is in the leaves to just smoke them as is...which is why we have extracts.
Not true. How do you think anyone learned about salvia divinorum? Randomly making extracts till they found a plant that worked? I've gotten there just chewing leaves for 10 minutes. Plain leaf is fine, it just takes a few hits and comes on a bit slower. Extracts are just a convenience, only a tiny bit and single hit do it. Don't rule out leaves, though.
I don't know about you guys but I smoked it and I was totally fucked up, not for that long. Ive never done extracts so i can't compare the two. how do you take the extracts, drink it?
No, extracts are usually smoked with a torch lighter and a bong, then held in for as long as the person can. After just one hit, strong, but not very long lasting phycadelic effects happen. Also, the leaves are quite enjoyable, I agree, do not rule them out.
Well shit! I know where theres some salvia plants by my house! Any specific kind of salvia important?
Yes, it needs to be Salvia Divinorum for the effect in question. A few other sages' psychoactiveness are speculated, but Divinorum is in its own class.
Yeah there is lots of kinds of sage, but you need to find Salvia Divinorum, it contrains the active chemical Salvitorin A. I think the easiest way to tell if its divinorum is look at the stems, they have square stems...very wierd.
