I never really thought about it, but I get so annoyed when we run out. We just bought some more, and I thought, man, we go through these things fast... And then I thought about all the ones we throw away...
Is there really any way to recycle them? They're so damn handy, I'd hate to quit using them with no alternative... I've been trying to use tupperware and stuff instead, but in Chemistry class today, I learned that a lot of that stuff is made of a plastic that can leech chemicals into your food and chemicals.
    Nothing is safe!:(

Well, do what I do. Eat some sunflower seeds. Very tasty.

I am not sure how much I buy into the whole leaching plastic dangers. I have read conflicting info on it..and it usually only applies to damaged plastic.
I do use tupperware, snack containers, and mason jars for many thing that I would have used a plastic baggie for in the past.

You could always get tin/metal type snack containters.
Or little cloth type bags for dry things like cereal and seeds.
