"Who Am I" is one of their most poignant songs and has that "hippie" vibe reminiscent of that era. Great song, great guitar work, great lyrics. ---------------------------- Lyrics: Who am I To stand and wonder, to wait While the wheels of fate Slowly grind my life away. Who am I ? There were some things that I loved one time, But the dreams are gone that I thought were mine, And the hidden tears that once could fall Now burn inside at the thought of all The years of waste, the years of cryin' The passions of a heart so blind; To think that, but even still As I stand exposed, the feelings are felt And I cry into the echo of my loneliness. Who am I To stand and wonder, to wait While the wheels of fate Slowly grind my life away. Who am I ? What a nothing I've made of life The empty words, the coward's plight To be pushed and passed from hand to hand Never daring to speak, never daring to stand And the emptiness of my family's eyes Reminds me over and over of lies And promises and deeds undone And now again I want to run But now there is nowhere to run to. Who am I To stand and wonder, to wait While the wheels of fate Slowly grind my life away. Who am I ? And now my friend we meet again and We shall see which one will bend Under the strain of death's golden eyes Which one of us shall win the prize To live and which one will die 'Tis I, my friend, yes 'tis I Shall kill to live again and again To clutch the throat of sweet revenge For life is here only for the taking. Who am I To stand and wonder, to wait While the wheels of fate Slowly grind my life away. Who am I ? Who am I ? Just in case he decides to change his profile........
Eh, Country Joe McDonald simply sympathized with his fellow pawns, slaves and the other idiots who went to Vietnam. He disliked generals, politicians and pro-war enablers and supporters and that would include ASSHOLES like you. HAHAHA!!! :jester:
The War Against The Children of Iraq http://youtube.com/watch?v=CCiO7BreLzo GO BUSH /CHENEY, !!! GO BUSH /CHENEY, !!! :jester:
Look at his website HUGE veteran supporter, unlike YOU. How much of a jackoff do you feel like for admiring a guy who SUPPORTS THE TROOPS??? :dupe:
You know, looking at YOUR propaganda photo's there is not one shred of proof they have anything to do with US soldiers.. "Stev90 looks up to a troop supporter" LMAO!!!arty:
A quote from Country Joe's website: "I know that some of the links on this page will offend some veterans. My only requirement for being on this page is that the site relate positively to and for veterans. I hope you find the links useful and enlightening." Seems to me he not only supports the troops but only allows POSITIVE things to be posted about veterans as well! A bit more than "sympathizing". Look at the website and show me ANYTHING negative about the actual troops.... Seems to me he would hate your guts for the things you say about the men and women in the military. Tool. What a jackoff you must feel like for posting lyrics to a song written by a guy who would think you are one huge TOOL!
Yeah, Paul1968 is weak when it comes to debate and arguments alright. All he does is post nice staged photo ops of pro-government, pro-military propaganda. No wonder he supports political losers like Ron Paul and Nader. LOL. That explains his lack of intellectual ability, skill, mental deficiency and poor judgment. It is a sad case of the lowered standards in today's military. It is also reflection of the current crop of military personnel and their equally stupid supporters like Paul1968. What a bunch of fuckin' idiots and their equally idiotic pro-military supporters, like Paul1968. HAHA!!! :jester:
If stating points without 4 letter words, profanity and general low class language makes my arguments weak them I'm proud.
Stating points without 4 letter words, profanity and general low class language, won't make the war in Iraq stop. LOL. HAHA!!! :jester: In fact, your silly, blind, support for the military leads only to more military deaths in this war based on lies, manipulation and deceit. No wonder more of our troops are needlessly dying because of stupid leaders and equally stupid pro-military, pro-war supporter, pro-war enablers like you. As of today, 15 more of our troops have died, and 29,496 wounded, since the milestone mark of 4000 was reached. Casualties in Iraq The Human Cost of Occupation http://www.antiwar.com/updates/?articleid=12639
But you hate the troops, as clearly shown from your posts. So why do you care how many die????? Make up your mind!
Ah, once again that sensitive liberalism rears it's ugly head. Fuck'em ALL even only a handful commited atrocities. Can I too choose to not pay for government services I don't use or approve of?? How does one go about this??
I do think that the income tax itself is unconstitutional as the amendment that created it was NOT fully ratified (see Aaron Russo's Freedom or Fascism video). However, you are quite wrong on the 50% of fed'l income tax going to the war. 100% of federal income tax goes to pay the INTEREST on the deficit. Yes Bush created this deficit as he spends like LBJ which in my opinion has dissapointed true conservatives the most. All other funding for the federal gov't comes from corporate taxes. And let's not forget that the top 1% of wage earners pay over 50% of federal income tax collected. So as far as Bush's tax cuts benefitting the "rich", I'll beg to differ. But that's another topic for another thread. I'd be interested in how you managed to evade your taxes (but I do applaud you for it LOL)
I'll give you the fact checking on the top 1% since I made that claim. Can you give me the source list for YOUR 54% of current income taxes going to the war, since YOU made that claim???
You can see all the FACTS about the tax cuts in the thread I started "Truth About Bush Tax Cuts" in the political forum. Still waiting on FedUp's source list on his 54% claim..................
I don't mean to jump ahead of FedUp's response, but here's something that might help with the discussion. WHERE YOUR FEDERAL INCOME TAX MONEY REALLY GOES Total Outlays (Federal Funds): $2,650 billion MILITARY: 54% and $1,449 billion NON-MILITARY: 46% and $1,210 billion http://www.warresisters.org/pages/piechart.htm
