    Hi all,
I know others have already posted in this subject, but I feel so strongly about it. If there is still any decency or justice left in the world EVERY country should totally boycott the 2008 Olympics to put China to shame.

    Regards: Malfunc

agreed. china is a terrible place for the olympics, they took over Tibet, open fire on any protests against their government, and on top of all that the air is so polluted it's harmful to the athletes.

proabably you should protest to the IOC, china did win the bid. no one force IOC to give it to china.

i also have had a hard time to imagine london host 2012 olympics they invade iraq, they invade north ireland, !

china shouldnt have got the olympic games in the first place... its very difficult now to just take them away... the only way to harm china is by boycotting the games. dont watch them, dont buy any merchandise and get as many people as possible to do the same.
and sign petitions! there are many available! together we are stronger and can make a change!

I hate this! I hate so many things that China is doing. But I love the Olympics! I mean, the hard working athletes don't have anything to do with China.

I really don't know what I'm going to do.

If you could prove to me that none of the athlete's taking part resort to doping, I might buy into part of your argument. Most athletes are in it for the return, so why should boycotting the event be seen a personal assault to the athletes. They should chose their venues of competition more carefully.

If the olympics were held in:

USA---we should boycott it because USA caused more than 1 million people dead in Iraq

UK----we should boycott it because they are following dogs of USA and help kill people in Iraq

Germany---we should boycott them because they killed 6 million Jews in the second world war

    ......

Then, there is no need to hold the Olympics as no matter which country holds it we can always find a reason to boycott.

Hope that tomorrow the Sun will become a Red Giant and destroy everything in the earth, then you will have nothing to boycott as you are boycotted by the Sun.

    You should do that.

It's this sort of sentiment that doesn't make friends for any amount of money or success. It breeds fear and resentment.

You are full of resentment as you want to boycott everything and ignore the positive aspects of things you are against.

Boycotts are wrong when it's other people, but fine when it's your patriotic people of China.

At Least 70 Killed, 400 Hurt in China Train Collision

High-speed passenger train jumps the tracks and slams into another train in eastern China, killing at least 70 people and injuring over 400, authorities said.

When Liu Zhixiang (the railway minister Liu Zhijun's brother) was given a suspended death sentence in April for a long list of crimes that included hiring an assassin, bribery and embezzling some 40 million yuan (5 million U.S. dollars), it sparked indignant letters of protest from ordinary people and legal scholars alike.

"We shouldn't let off some corrupt officials and punish others," argued legal scholar Yan Lieshan in the China Economic Times. "Corrupt officials' lives should be spared only if the capital punishment is negated for all economic crimes. The current practice of punishing some with death while sparing others harms the public's trust in justice."

The railway minister,Liu Zhijun has married five times, yes in self-claimed commie China. His brother is a gangleader who was given a suspended death sentence in April 2006.

But he cringes before HU JINTAO,so he is safe.

Statement of Lama Ole Nydahl concerning questions about the present tragedy in Tibet:

" Diamond Way Buddhism leaves everybody free to have their own political convictions therefore these statements can only be my own personal experiences concerning Tibetan feelings and views: During my years of involvement and staying in the Himalayas since 1968, I have not met a single Tibetan who saw the Chinese annexion of their country in a positive light.

During the first years their main complaint was that between 20-25 % of the country's inhabitants had starved due to mistaken agricultural directives from Beijing or been killed in prison camps or during self-criticism meetings or acts of war. The destruction of their religion, the gutting of its monasteries and inhuman treatment and killing of its leaders stayed engraved on their minds and was constantly mentioned.

As the Chinese put the blame for the Cultural Revolution on the "Gang of Four" and Deng started a liberal period, many Tibetans were willing to at least work under the given conditions. As the Chinese started influencing the choice of incarnate Lamas, however, and brought such massive amounts of foreign immigrants into Tibet, that the nature of their country totally changed and they became a minority, this new
wave of unrest probably became unavoidable. As everywhere, when men with stones in their hands face machine guns this is a total tragedy and it should not be impossible for such a great power as China to give them the autonomy which is all they can realistically expect.

May this become possible before yet more lives are lost and the entry of the great and cultural Chinese nation into the world’s free and democratic states is seriously questioned. The Tibetans are not a violent race and there must be ways that their rightful wishes for freedom can be met. It will be a great and unforgettable act on the
side of the Chinese otherwise far-seeing leadership if they can do this."

    Yours Lama Ole Nydahl, Denmark

Let's just fight for peace. Please do not quarrel. You know what is good - just look into your heart. Please, do not create problems there where such no exists.

If someone is going on the 2008 olimpics - let he take at least one flag on Tibet with him and a book about true history of Tibet translated into Chinese. (They are teached in schools that Tibet was always Chinese).
