Just a couple of things really.

My dreads are fairly thick, i would like thinner dreads. My hair was down to my waist when it was dreaded and i feel that as my hair grows it will dread into much thinner dreads because the hair won't be as packed. I'm going to end up with big swinging dreads on the end. Does anyone else have this problem and will my dreads end up a lot thinner as desired?

Also what are people views on wrapping dreads with wool to aid the dreading process?

the tendency is thin to thick thin dreasds combine with neighbours to thicken, im not sure what your trying to say, a thick dread , how would it get thin

oh and the wool wrapping, not surewhat u mean there eithrer like hair wraps/
that can certainly help, id use hemp if u can, over time wool yarn will break down and might becomne pary of the dread, hemp willlast longer and stay stronger
also id not do the speed wrap type (just wrapping) id do the more fancy i guess its kinda macrome (spelling) type knotted wraps, wont tend to unravel on ya

Well the guy who did my dreads seems to have packed all the hair into dreads so they sort of resemble luthers all over my head, now my hair is growing and also dreading the dreads that have formed naturally (from my head to the dread created from hair already there) the dread is much thinner (my pics might give you a better idea). I can't tie it up properly and they just don't seem to hang right when left down. I am happy with them and i'm hoping they will get thinner. Hope i've explained that alright.

    very cute pics ;)
luthers though must be a britt term, not sure what ya mean, but i think i understand i saw how long your hair was and just how much packing (i assume u mean backcombing) must have gone into shortening them so much
with your hair length you provbly would have been better off going natural
but can you try getting a clowse up picture of tyhe roots and where the dreads go from thick to thin?
as lond as u keep seperating them they should be fine and over a good bit of time new thin dreads form between
they look grewat on u tho

    :) Thank you.

I'Initially i messed with them loads but now i just mindlessly roll them from time to time. They're trying their best to merge but i'm seeing that they don't hehe. I'm happy with them being a bit thinner i just never heard or was told that they'd grow out thinner. The newly thin dreads are coming on nicely though, i just wondered if i'd get away with sticking with the new thin dreads and seemingly i will. Many thanks soaringeagle and i must have said this already but your dreads are inspirational :worthy: hehe i've never used animated smileys before so i'm probably going to over do it with them for a while.
