Most Overrated Song Of All Time?

Im sick of watching TV and seeing the same old songs winning every '100 greatest rock' award on every show and the songs always being really boring and lame.

What do you think is the most overrated song of all time?

my pick would be 'Smells like teen spirit' by nirvana. overplayed, overhyped, wins every single 'top 100', 'top songs of the 80's', 'rock anthems' award and stuff and its just soooo old and totally scene.

 

at the time smells like teen spirit was revolutionary
no one had seen anything like nirvana in the mainstream
i feel old saying this but you had to be there at the time
it came out to understand why it was so great.

Smells Like Teen Spirit is a pretty good choice, but of any Nrivana song, at least it's that one.

Welcome to the Jungle. As a huge Guns N Roses fan, I always hate to see this songs constant recognition over their others. Although, on rare occasion, I have seen Sweet Child O' Mine and November Rain top it on lists. I love it when that happens =)

I used to dig Scorpions in the Animal Magnetism period....the rest is all downhill for them....I prefer to listen to Uli Roth's band nowadays...waaaay better!

 

I don't like the Scorpions in general, but Fly to the rainbow is pretty good! Smoke on the water I can understand, it's terrible overplayed like all hits, but I don't think it's overrated, I like it very much

Stairway To Heaven. Led Zeppelin has 3 good songs. Stairway isn't one of them.

The only way to really have a great relationship with Led Zeppelin is not to listen to classic rock radio, ever. If you're a fan (not directed at you, ProggyMan), I urge you to listen to the version of Stairway from the BBC Sessions. It might just renew your love of it.

i would have to actually agree with stairway to heaven... im not saying it sucks, i love it actually. But Rolling Stone magazine rated it as the number 1 solo of all time and i would have to disagree.

It's a good song, and Pink Floyd is amazing, but it's not nearly as good as other Pink Floyd stuff in my opinion.
