I was wondering about what time do the shrooms start poking up around here. I live in South Louisiana and have been periodically checking fields for shrooms with no luck. It's been low to mid 80's during the day with high humidity and frequent showers (heavy shower atleast once a week) and mid to high 60's at night. From what I've read on Shroomery they should be popping up soon but what would be the ideal time to look? I know during the summer they grow like wild fire but they should be making an appearence soon I would hope?

you will start to see some varieties pop up occasionally soon, then as it gets into summer, wait until one day when its hot and raining all day just pouring, with a humid warm night clearing up and a nice sunny day following

if its safe for daytime, go the next day at like 8 to 9 am and there should be lots, if you have to go at night try the night after it rains if the rain backs off while its still daytime

when you do get a good field, dont just rip em up, take scissors and sort of tap them with your finger gently then cut the stem halfway up with the scissors to take them, try to leave at least a few growing

youll most likely have many more in that same area next time it rains since the spores and shit are still all around there and some roots may not have died and shit

but, to answer simply, soon, just be patient.

it sucks here in Tennessee because its almost impossible to find fields now that farmers are required to feed their cows fungicide.

I love mushrooms!!!!!! I have definetly eaten my fair share of mushrooms both lab, wild, and homegrown. Most of the time the experience is very uplifting, enlightening, and empowering. They brake down any mental barriers that ive ever had with anyone. I need to get some bird seed and jars going again damn
