personally, iiiii'm not celebrating it... but a bunch of people are giving me gifts... and hell, i'm not complaining.. i'm loving these gifts..
I'm celebrating something else, like being with family and having drinks and food... so I think that's ok that you are celebrating getting presents.
an atheist is one of those people who seems to think there has to not be anything we cant see. an agnostic is someone who sees gods and beliefs as apples and oranges, really the two very seperate things that they are, neither depending on the other in any way, nor required to exist or not exist. everyone who doesn't adhier to, or identify themselves with, any one particular belief, is NOT, therefor made an 'athiest' by not so being. if looked at in objective reality, the reason most people identify themselves with whatever belief happens to be dominant wherever they happen to live, is to avoid being discriminated against economicly or socially. i doubt very much that most people really give a whole lot more thought, at least not any sort of honest and objective thought, to it, then that. =^^= .../\...
I'm the same way. Dont go for all the religious stuff, but like being together with family and eating a meal and giving and recieving gifts. Shit, that reminds me that i have to wrap my presents for the morning.
Christmas is not all about religious beliefs. It has many significances. It also means being together with loved ones, partying, enjoying oneself, giving and receiving presents.
in the darkest hour of the night, every atheist looks upwards and half-believes....... and also when there are presents involved
It's called winter solstice. It was around first, so I celebrate every year. It's everyone else who thinks I'm celebrating Christmas.
