planning to make a trip over there, spend a couple nights. and then its on to Palenque... anybody have first hand experience?
It all depends on the neighborhood honestly. tourist areas and a lot of the citys real safe. If you go wandering off (can you hablar?) into some areas which are kinda gang controlled their less friendly to foreigners. Don't carry much cash, stay in the right neighborhoods, have someone around who speaks the language, and don't piss anyone off, you're fine almost anywhere.
