i think my mouse is pregnant i got told when i brought my two ,mice that they were both females now when i look they both have different genital space etc. and one of them if getting really fat but im not sure what to do or if she is really pregnant :nopity:
What do you want to do? Are you intending to keep to mice if she has babies, Normally mice will take care of their babies as long as a food source in nearby, but there is a chance that mom will kill and eat babies, you should move the other non parent from the cage if they are born, and see what happens. Theres really nothing you can do if the mom decides to kill the babes, but intervien if you see it happening, yet how will you feed the babies? You could nurse the babies but its going to be a very tedious job, and youll need more research on it than I can give you...
Same thing happened to us with our rats except both were female and Missy was already pregant when we got her from the pet shop. We just thought it was her passion for sweet corn that was making her gain weight, then one morning there were 9 babies in the nest. She was a good mother but one of the babies seemed weaker than the others and kept crawling from the nest. One day it just disappeared and we guessed she'd eaten it...horrible maybe but it's what they do. We kept all the others but made sure the boys and girls were seperated before they came of breeding age. Good luck.
