i just watched a vid on youtube someone posted for me showing animals being skinned alive in what's supposed to be china. can anyone confirm this happens, and if so what can i do to help stop it. it was pretty disgusting and i wish i could be over there to stop it first-hand but i'll settle for what i can do.

there's a lot of nasty work, human and animal violations going on. Democracy Now! OCT. 30th's broadcast Just had a guest on that did a year long investigation into inhuman workers violations, couple that with CNN's Planet in Peril and China is #1 (even over american, but we are their conjoined twin when it comes to violations, etc.)

Doing what I can to Boycott MADE IN CHINA

I say boycott fur in general-ick! And I agree that, to the extent possible, we should avoid anything from China, based on worker conditions, the environment, and product safety.

This week, someone forwarded me a PETA video documenting horrific cruelty to cats and dogs in China...
I decided that the best way to gain awareness for the issue was to create a sort of "poll petition" on the subject.
    So here's the link: http://www.pollsb.com/polls/poll/4438/after-watching-this-horrific-video-about-the-cruel-treatment-of-cats-and-dogs-in-china-will-you-boycott-the-beijing-olympics

The video is on that link too. Watch the video and then please vote so we can raise awareness for the issue (if the poll gets enough votes, there are some popular blogs who have agreed to post it on their sites to raise even more awareness...)

    Thanks!

China and corporate America have no respect for anything or anyone that can't make them a buck. They poison our pets, kill their own pets, poison our kids with lead, asbestos and whatever they can get away with. But we are told that's the free market system.

Well they can make their posionous goods, I don't have to buy them.

Hey, guy, who told that the above thing. Do you believe it is true for you all? I do not know this issue at all, go help me, I am chinese. That is to say the things is not true. Chinese government is strong enough to restrict the illegal capture. More and more furs are made by polyester and more and more people accept the how to create an Eco world. Not only for you but for chinese... To boycott things which are made in China, you can call your people to do it accordingly. Most of the things from China are in good quality and cheap price, how to boycott these? It is a sense of economic globalization-- to reduce the from your own contury, to using less money do more contributions. China do more for your all. Pls take note.

FYI ... if something is labeled "made in America" you can't always trust it.

The summer after I graduated high school, I worked for a factory that made florescent lights. They had a factory in China, but they're products are said to be "Made in America". They company is able to do this because they test a certain percentage of each product per shipment. Another interesting fact, is that when they're made wrong, they have to be shipped back because they were made with completely different parts, even though they're under the same company and are labeled "Made in America"

Just thought I'd let you know....

In China, cats are skinned alive before they're cooked. Also, though it's technically illegal, there's a healthy trade of endangered species parts down there. Not even hidden but in regular markets. The sick part is that the trade is mainly caused because the animals are so rare. It's like a status symbol for a rich chinese businessman to serve tiger liver soup.

    China's a fucked up place.

I wear fur. Sometimes it gets cold, and you need a jacket. You could wear synthetic, but have you seen the carbon footprints those factories make. It’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t satiation, and I chose to stay comfortable. Also the animal doesn’t need it anymore.
