I've been interested in finding a psychic either in Dallas or Houston tx (I travel between the two cities), but I know there are a lot of scam artists out there. I was wondering if there is some way to find an authentic psychic who is doing it for the right reasons. Are there websites with reviews? (lol I know that sounds really stupid). Or do some people on here know anyone in Texas who they can vouch for? Or are there just some basic ways to screen out the fakes? Thanks everyone
yea a true psychic would know ya need em and find you doubt theyd charge by the hour either if 1 hasnt found ya maybe ya dont need 1 only think u do but..if some1 stops u on the street with a message pay attention. no matter how crazy they seem
lol I spent 5 years as a fundamentalist evangelical christian.....I think if someone stopped me on the street with a "message" for me, I would assume they were going to tell me that god still loves me....or something of that nature. But thanks for the response, I'll keep that in mind.....and I guess I should get out of my apartment more if I expect to be found
There are a few who charge money and are worth it. But they're hard to find. If someone gives you vague answers, or answers that don't quite seem to fit, or if they say you need to pay them more money for more sessions, say thank you, stand up, and walk away forever. Soaringeagle had very good advice for you. People who come to this forum seem to attract psychics right here who have the answers they need. Sometimes psychics who have never posted here pop up seemingly out of nowhere to answer certain questions. Keep in mind also that the answer you need is not necessarily the answer you want, and it's not necessarily easy. If life required no work or searching on our part, then why would we need to live at all? But don't let me discourage you from looking for a local psychic. If you feel the urge to do so, then I think you should follow that path to see where it leads.
Ask your question here -- in a new thread. Some one, or several some ones, WILL reply with answers. Count on it. Connections will be made. What isn't asked, generally isn't answered.
thanks for the replies. I think I need to figure out more distinctly what my questions are.....then maybe I can really search for answers. Right now it all just seems like a confused and anxiety stricken mess jumbled in my head. I've also been interested in tarot card readings....I know its a little different from psychics, but does anyone know whether the reader has a lot of influence, or can I learn to do it myself? I know its more than just "learning", but if I took it seriously, could I be successful? or is it like psychic abilities which are more just innate in someone?
We are all psychic. But just like physical athletics, say 50 yard dash, some of us are just naturally better at it than others. However, no matter what your natural talent/skill is, practice and training will ALWAYS help ANYONE improve. Like meditation -- with the intent of tuning into to the Universe and your own natural skills. The more you do it, the better you get. I think most anyone can learn to work with the Tarot, especially if you have some inherent, natural interest it. Which you seem to express. It seems the Universe has a way of calling us to what suits us spiritually. In my opinion, reading the Tarot is a form of assisted psychicness, or channeling. Each card is a pictorial and symbolic representation of a Universal-Spiritual energy, quality, or truth. As the cards are laid out, they are placed in different positions, each position defining what that card pertains to in relation to the question. So, the cards act very much like cue cards, assisting the reader to more effectively tune into and apply their own natural psychic skills to the Universal flow, and "read" and access what enlightenment they seek. Here is a link to a good Tarot website that you might find helpful and enlightening. There is a lot there. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/index.html By the way, I've been through the fundamentalist trip to. Actually it can be a very good stepping stone on the spiritual path. As long as you can go beyond it, by incorporating each new revelation of truth and enlightenment you encounter along your way into your own PERSONAL belief system. So that your beliefs-religion are in constant evolution with each new addition of insight, and each deletion of what you were formerly committed to, as these new, greater truths, replace and superceed those already in your heart. So, that what you believe today, about yourself and The Universe, could well be totally different than what you might believe tomorrow. Based on what spiritual insight you experienced in the intervening 24 hours. And then comes the next 24 hours, and what you might experience then! And on down the flow of time. In essence, we never know it all. Those who say that they do, close out the next greater truth they might encounter, and never recieve it. And so, spiritually choose to stand still, and not grow and evolve, and proceed on down the path. [and we all do this at times -- human ego!] We are all here for our own unique life-spiritual purposes, and so naturally, our spiritual paths are also unique and individual as well. So, one religion fits all, always leaves something more to be desired for the most avid seekers of Spirit and Universal Truth. There are as many paths as there are individuals. Some may be very similar and kindred. And, some may be totally opposite. But in essence, all are truly unique and individual unto each and every one of us. And for each of us, whatever Path we choose, is in it's own way true. Good luck on The Path!
Now you're looking for a way to chart your own vibes - excellent. My good friend Mojave had some good points - I used to cast the I Ching when I was younger. The oracles - I Ching, Tarot, or whatever you choose - can help you tune into your deeper psychic impressions. You can become your own psychic. And maybe that's what your current path is all about. What's the line from that very old song - "it's darkest just before the dawn." LOL
Thanks yall so much Mojave: I really like that site you gave me, it has lots of good information. Do you (or anyone) have any suggestions personally on how to choose a tarot deck? I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by it all....lol I think I have a hard time making decisions. The Alastair Crowley one interests me, but it seems there is some speculation that there is something negative about them....I don't know though. I just like that sort of look the cards have.
Interestingly enough, my deck is the A.C. Thoth Deck, and the accompanying Book Of Thoth. Crowley engaged in practices that many find questionable. Like ritual sex. And was very public about his practices. And this was in England in the early part of the 20th Century. An environment not at all accepting of any behavior other than Victorian Christian behavior. It and he, were considered very scandalous, and outrageous. And so, he was labeled "The Evilest Man To Ever Live." And yes, I too feel that at times his ego got the best of him and he crossed the line of negativity. It seems he fell victim to ego lust for power and control, and over reached himself in a negative spiritual way. He fell pray to his own human weaknesses, as we all do in one way or another. His was spiritual control of events and others. I do NOT idolize him. And, I do NOT want to walk his path. I do not want to be like him. I just want to know some of what he knew. The knowledge is just knowledge. How it is used, is the users choice. An example. A man uses a car to take an injured person to the hospital, and their life is saved. Another man uses a car to run down and kill some one he has a grievance with. Was the car good in one instance, and evil in the other? Or was it the driver, and how they used the car that was good or evil? A car is just a car -- a vehicle. And so is knowledge -- just a vehicle. And it is my opinion, that The Book Of Thoth and Thoth Deck -- are just vehicles too. What YOU do with them is positive or negative. Also, Crowley was a member of the Order Of The Golden Dawn, a secretive Hermetic spiritual order, and rose high in it's ranks. The Golden Dawn, like most magical-spiritual societies were very secretive about their practices and knowledge. Partially to keep from being persecuted, just as Crowley was, for engaging in "non-Christian" practices. And, partly to keep their knowledge secret and to themselves. Crowley believed that knowledge was God's, or The Universe's, gift to all humanity. And so, once having learned all of The Golden Dawns secret knowledge, he published it ALL without their permission. So, then his spiritual cohorts were enraged with him as well as straight laced society. And they expelled him from The Golden Dawn for this offense. Furthering his public "Evil" image and rep. Now he was "too evil" to even belong to this "awful dark society" of "warlocks" and the like. And this bad rep. has been passed onto the Tarot Deck he created. And all things Crowley. In creating this deck, Crowley says he restored the Tarot to an earlier and more proper form. Which is why it's true name is, "The Restored Egyptian Tarot". Through his exhaustive studies, he found that several of the Trump cards were switched in their positions with other cards. And in his deck he replaced them in their original proper order, as the Egyptians had them. Also, he believed that the names and identities of many of the cards had been changed from the originals as well. And so restored them to their original names in The Thoth deck. And, I personally believe he was correct in this. So the Thoth Deck is slightly different in nature than ANY of the other decks. And I believe, far closer to the Tarots original ancient form than any other. Which is why I relate to it so well. I LOVE it's ancient, lost in time, mystical, feel. I have some memories of several former lives in ancient Egypt as priests. And so really relate with this deck. Many say that this deck is not a beginners deck. Yet it was my first deck! And I had no trouble learning with it. Though it is different enough form all other decks, that I do have trouble reading any of the others. But, I am so satisfied with The Thoth Deck, that I have no desire to read any of the others. As far as how to choose a deck -- choose what calls to you. The Thoth deck called to me, and I chose it. From what you've mentioned, it seems to have some call for you too. But, check out what decks are out there and around, before making your decision. There are so many. Each with it's own energy. If you do choose the Thoth Deck, be sure to get the cards printed in Switzerland, and NOT the ones printed Belgium. The colors on the Swiss cards are much brighter than the Belgian deck. And the cards come in 2 sizes. A small deck about the size of playing cards. And a large deck about 2 1/2 x 5 inches. The Swiss deck is a large deck. Some find shuffling the large deck awkward and hard. I have the large Swiss deck. In the mean time. Here are some links to websites you might find worth while if you want to learn more about The Book Of Thoth and Thoth Deck.
